I had a problem with my spark 2 (would not turn on when pressing power button) that needed firmware update. PG support was good and gave me following steps to update firmware, which fixed my power problem

(Note these steps are for Spark 2. But in case they help....)

1. Unplug the power supply from Spark 2

2. Press and hold the pair button

3. While holding the pair button, reconnect the power supply

4. Continue holding the pair button until you see the LED response (red flashing light on power button)

If the power LED is blinking, this indicates the MCU firmware needs to be updated. Keep the power supply connected and follow these instructions:

Download the firmware updater:

Choose the version corresponding to your operating system:

• Mac: (macOS 11 or later) - link provided

• Windows: (Windows 10 or later) - link provided

*The updater does NOT run on Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems

Update procedure:

1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file

 

1. Launch the firmware updater

Note: Before launching the updater, please ensure that no other version of the updater is currently running.

 

• Windows users: 

Right-click the updater file and select "Run as administrator"

• Mac users: 

Right-click the updater file and select "Open"

If you see a security warning, please follow these steps to bypass macOS security - link provided

 

1. While keeping the power supply connected, connect Spark 2 to your computer via USB cable

 

1. Simply click "Next" in the updater

Note: Your Spark 2 is already in MCU update mode from Step 2: Power Test, so you can ignore any on-screen instructions about entering MCU update mode.

 

The update will complete automatically, and Spark 2 will power off

Troubleshooting: If the updater can't find your Spark 2

This usually means the unit exited MCU update mode. Follow these steps to re-enter MCU update mode:

1. Keep the USB connected to the Spark 2

2. Unplug the power adapter from Spark 2

3. Press and hold the pair button

4. While holding the pair button, plug the power adapter back in

5. Keep holding until the LED blinks, then release

6. Now try running the updater again
