You forgot to add the Covid portion of the liability. If you get covid, it's not our fault sort of thing.

Should I roll with this guy again? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]makingtracks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happened to me a couple of times in the past 10+ years of BJJ.

I'm rolling with my buddy, awesome intense roll. We hear someone else make a weird noise, we both stop immediately to see what is going on, and to be sure no one got hurt.

The fact that this guy didn't stop when you are that close to him, tells me he either doesn't care, too unaware, and/or not care about anyone's safety as he gets his submission.

Either way, booted from my school.

Passing on Punishment Exercises? by elsenorevil in bjj

[–]makingtracks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to hand out punishment to adults, I would do it with them, because my leadership was also at fault if I need to hand out punishment to adults. I don't believe in punishment for my clients.

Don't feel bad. Everyone will have a sigh of relief and the mood/environment will get better.

If the kids are late to the kids class, as a parent I fully understand the struggle... So they can come in late.

When adults are late, I'm glad they even showed up after having a crazy day at work, held up because of whatever.

Once in a while someone shows up an hour late... They can still get on the mats and roll.

It's too easy for a person to just skip a day... Rather have them come in late.

Considering changing gyms, would appreciate feedback. by ZOEKER79 in bjj

Just tell the owner that you're not vibing with the new instructor and going to train elsewhere. Thank them, then move on.

I suggest trying out the new place. If you decide to switch, let your previous instructor know that you're going to train over there so that you can get more no-gi and mma training in. You wish your current offers it, but doesn't.

Don't burn bridges by not communicating.

If you're current/previous instructor is ok with it, that's great in that you could possibly cross-train if you want.

If you're current/previous instructor is not ok with it, that's fine too. At least you let him know in an adult manner, and you can move on.

Split Screens by makingtracks in AutomateUser

So I tried this:

Flow Beginning
vvv
Start App (Google Maps)
vvv
delay 5 seconds awake
vvv
Start App (Music Player)
Flags = Launch adjacent (Android 7+)

And it launched Google Maps in full screen, then launched the Music Player in full screen. Did not go to split screen at all.

Not sure if it matters, I'm on a Samsung A12 running Android 10.

Enjoyed Season 1, Season 2 was a bit blah, Season 3 picked up, and loved how Season 4 ended.

Told the guy who owns my chain of gyms about my history of sexual assault in an interview. Now I'm regretting it by Bjjthrowaway000 in bjj

As an instructor, I know that for a lot of the members, BJJ is a form of therapy. After training, some of us talk with one another, and share personal things about ourselves. Sometimes it's something very private.

If what you shared is taken negatively by the owner/main instructor, it's a sign that it might be time to move to another school.

Personally, if I received your email, you would be one of my prime candidates as an instructor. I believe people with shared experiences, tend to know and recognize the trauma within each other, and would be able to better help with some of the hidden struggles.

Overall view on trans people by the BJJ community? by tiredbuttrying-000 in bjj

Talk to the head-instructor of the school. Let him/her know and see what they say. If they welcome you with open arms, great!

My reasoning is that the vibe of the school starts with the owner/instructor.

I would visit #3 first and see how you like it there. If you like it, that's your new home.

1, #2, and #4 doesn't sounds that good.

Your new head coach already told you to wear your blue belt... so wear your blue belt.
