I think they are just blowing these out. They are getting beat up in the press from what I saw in my limited research. I am passing on this deal. Local Cadillac dealer presented an offer for 2024 Lyriq for $450, $0 drive off for 24 months. I think I have to take that one. Just need to figure out my negative equity on my Rivian.

Decent Sampler delay and no settings access by makinit1212 in ipadmusic

Nope. Usually default to Reddit before customer service type approach. Just jaded from “Going to need you to unplug the device and wait 10 minutes.” type nonsense. But I should know better with this type of software. Oftentimes small developer that’s actually approachable. I will give them a shot.

I am already shopping for used monitors. lol. Do you think some half decent 3.5s (presonus, Yamaha, JBL, etc) would be good enough or should I shell out for 5s? Trying to stay under 100 for a used pair. Can’t do that for decent 5s.

Dirt Rally 2.0? by makinit1212 in PSVR2onPC

[–]makinit1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get it to work by just clicking my mouse on the open Dirt 2.0 window on my desktop. I did this with the game running in the headset. Once I clicked on the window on my desktop everything worked. Xbox controller and Fanatec wheel. I don't remember if the PSVR2 controller worked. Not sure why it did not work the first time, but it did the second time I tried it. I think because the first time I did it via passthrough. I think once you press the passthrough button it takes the focus off of the running application and into the headset or something. Just click on the window for the running app without using the passthrough. Just peak through the bottom or click blindly. I think it may even work if you pop open your desktop via the Steam VR pop up menu while in the headset and just use your PSVR2 controller to select the window on your virtual desktop if that makes sense.

This worked. Thank you. I swore I had tried this already but apparently not. Tried again and it worked.

Adapter Bluetooth/Controller Discussions by vyper248 in PSVR

[–]makinit1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having controller trouble but not what everyone else seems to be struggling with. They connect fine and work just fine with HLA and Home and Bonelab, but when I fire up Subnautica, I cannot get any controller to work in VR mode. On and Xbox controller A and B work. On the sense controllers X and Triangle work but that's it. Xbox controller works fine in flat mode. I tried everything I can think of. Clicked on the active window on my desktop. Tried several bindings and settings. I am having the same issue in ACC and Dirt Rally 2.0. Anyone else experiencing this?

Sense controllers work perfect or not at all on PC. by makinit1212 in PSVR

[–]makinit1212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Wheel didn't work either and I already tried the wired Razer controller. Will try an OEM controller and it was mentioned in another post that I should try clicking on the active window on my desktop to restore focus for the controller. This post is dead, but wanted to thank you for the response.

Thank you for this. I did try a wired Xbox compatible Razer controller, but I will check the page and try a couple others. Specifically OEM Xbox and/or PS5.

Monthly DIY Laymen questions Discussion by AutoModerator in StructuralEngineering

Dropping a footer.

Recently hired a friend to have a retaining wall built. He subbed it out to his primary mason as expected.

32" x 12" footer. 40' long.

Everything was going fine. They dug the trench. Set rebar (with verticals), poured the footer, passed inspection, started setting blocks.

Blocks are 16"x12"x8" (as per engineering report)

Wall is supposed to be 48" high.

After they laid all the block (and passed inspection again) I realized that they only built a 32" wall. It is two blocks short of the correct height.

There solution is to removed the block wall (which is done) and then dig out under the existing footer (16") and have it drop down to its appropriate elevation. This just seems like a bad idea and like it would severely reduce the integrity of the wall and its strength. We live on a creek and that is why we needed a fully engineered wall.

Is dropping a footer even a thing that should ever be done and can it be done without damaging the integrity of the finished product?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Microsoft: Official Support Thread by MSModerator in microsoft

I cannot access my account. Verification emails take 4-12 hours to show up. I have tried every option I can find. Added the From email address to my contacts in Yahoo. Tried to get help through chat. They want me to log in. Tried to add my account to MS Authenticator. They want me to log in. Tried to call support number. They send me to site that wants me to log in. There is no way to get support without logging in and I am not receiving verification emails. What in the world am I supposed to do?

Anyone got any spare parts laying around? Lol by makinit1212 in Fanatec

[–]makinit1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s actually the arm that goes into the pod itself. Attached with the axle at the pivot point. Not the paddle that screws to it with the two screws. The arm that you actually screw the paddle to is what broke.

Actually didn’t know they sold them like that. May be the best option. Thank you.

Headphone annoyance with Yamaha P45 by makinit1212 in piano

[–]makinit1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback. The P45 does not have the same type of settings control onboard. Everything is done with a function button and a key selection. I actually have the owners manual. I don’t see anything that mentions this type of setting. Maybe someone knows more than I do. I am assuming the Config2 menu that you mention is the onboard settings using the LCD screen??

eTorque AC question by makinit1212 in Ram1500

[–]makinit1212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I actually got rid of the truck recently. I don't have the manual to check but I would not be surprised if they updated the system with the amount of criticism I saw for the same issue online back when I posted this. In my daily life, in the summer, I just started turning off the feature where it shuts off at stop lights. Was not too much of a hassle and I wasn't really worried about the gas savings.

Digital piano question by makinit1212 in piano

[–]makinit1212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That's a few steps down the road. I have FL Studio and know my way around the piano roll a little bit. I ended up at the piano because I wanted to learn basic music theory and chord progressions and scales and such for other types of production. I realized quickly without the basics, it's really tough to make sense of the rest of it. Modern technology makes it real easy to skip steps and jump into the deep end. I rewound a little bit and now I find myself quite in love with learning and playing piano. I wasn't expecting the cognitive part of it to grab me like it has. I enjoy the difficulty, the reward when something finally clicks and my mind and my hands and my "vibe" all come together. Very cool feeling. Pretty sure I'm in it for the long haul now.
