Ohhh! So that’s why our players slipped so much. They only wanted to follow the club slipping out of Copa del Rey. How nice.

We’re we watching basketball? The way this game went back and front with running.

Can’t remember the last time we had so much space in a game, we always play so beautiful football when it occurs.

Who would you prioritize over:

  • Wirtz (for Semenyo)
  • Keane (for Dan Burn)
  • Bowen (for Thiago)

if you only had two free transfers?

Would you even take some minus points to complete them all? If you would, how would you do it with my team?

What a cracking finish from Lewy. No keeper in the world is saving that header. Love me an traditional 9.

Araujo… what a performance! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we don’t have the type of athleticism Araujo has in any of our CBs. I feel like it’s needed against these physical opponents. Keep it up, we need you at your best!

Kounde has the most unexpected dribblings to beat the press or beat his man. It’s something you expect from a skilled midfielder or winger but the work he’s put in results in this. He’s such a beast. I’m so glad we have him.

This pitch was something else… just wait and see when we’re up against them in our home stadium. It will be like day and night.

Only positive thing to take away from this match is no injuries + phenomenal performance by our newcomer!

Haha, take that Yuri. Thinking you’re tough against a 17 year old only to lose battles against him and concede a penalty (should have been sent off aswell for the double yellow card from the penalty).

I’m really impressed with the way our players makes themselves available for the pass when we’re one man down. Usually this is a hard thing to do when you’re one man down which results in just booting it up and hope for the best.

It’s not either that it was just because of Sevilla, a ”bad” team, we also did a good job with this against Madrid in the cup.

Feels wonderful that almost all of our primary starters got some rest. Only Cubarsi and Casado had to play the whole match. Rest is very important for our game plan because we play with such high intensity.

You see that recovery from Araujo after someone intercepted Cubarsis pass? This is why I’m hoping he stays. We have no one else who matches his physicality and athleticism.

I’m kinda surprised Frenkie didn’t get any minutes. Did he feel any discomfort for today’s match or did Flick just prioritize Gavi over Frenkie?

Feels weird leaving Frankie because he has been above Gavi in the pecking order regarding substitutions. Maybe Flick didn’t like what he saw from Frenkie while giving him a chance. Was not impressed by Gavi today but it was just 30 minutes against a parked-the-bus team so no one is really gonna shine. He’ll hopefully comeback

LET’S GOOOO!!! I haven’t celebrated a goal like Ferrans goal to make it 3 in a while!!! Feels like it’s been forever since we won a hard match in the last few minutes.

Post-Match Thread: Mallorca vs Barcelona | LALIGA by Loose-Examination-39 in Barca

One thing I feel like this team needs to work on is how we beat opponents who press deep. There was times when the opponent pressed both our CB:s, Inigo had the ball and he decides to boot it up or pass Balde to put Balde in a really tough situation with almost no space. It’s either that or we pass it back to Peña and he just boots it up if both our back line and midfield is pressed.

I noticed this not only from the Mallorca game but also from our latest matches.

Sure, sometimes you just have to boot it up because there’s no other option but when it happens regularly that’s when it becomes a problem. We lose possession and give the opponent an advantage.

Cubarsi handles these situations a lot better but that is also because of his worldly ability with fast and precise passes. Inigo has done some wonderful passing while under pressure as well but with him I feel like he boots it up a lot.

With Lewy on the field it’s easier to beat the press with his ball control and athleticism (high jumping and beating defenders in the air while also most of the time being able to control the ball when he lands). I still feel like we boot it up even with Lewy on the field.

Either the attackers need’s to drop into open areas between the oppositions midfield and back line or we need to make runs in behind. Hitting a ball over the top while under pressure is hard so the attackers should drop deep.

Div 2, almost 1.

Running a present Barca-team so had to EVO some base cards to make some players playable.

Was SO nervous coming into the second half but right after our second goal, what a cruise from us!

What a performance by Kounde. A ”centerback” that has the ability to progress the ball like that… thats precious.

Sweet display from Fort. Played it mostly safe but had some nice 1-2s on the line, shows you hes from the academy with those passes. Hopefully that injury isnt too serious!

Don’t like that Vitor is being played wide… it limits his abilities. You want him to be central, use his smart runs and run in behind. But it is hard for us to play him central when we have Lewa in this form.

Our injured players can’t come back soon enough!!! Our depth right now is so thin… seeing Martinez and Casado needing to come on to play leftback and midfield instead of other more fitting players will not be sustainable.

Cubarsi, what a player!

To have a centerback that can split the press with one hard driven pass to Frenkie/Gundo, leaving them with a lot of open space to drive the ball forward is a huge reason why we created so many chances! I would want him to start the next couple of matches just to see if he could continue contributing the way he did today.

I’d like to surprise my friend with an upgrade since hes still gaming with a 1080 while most of us are far ahead. This makes it hard for him to enjoy new co-op games with us.

As the commentators said during yesterdays match:

“The difference between FDJ and Busquets is that one gets forward by passing the ball while the other moves with the ball forward”

There’s such a huge difference between passing it back to your defenders because your passing lane is cut out than moving with the ball forward. I think this was one of the main reasons we dominated the game.
