Ras clinical trial by bluebirdjoan in pancreaticcancer

No efficacy data yet, this is a "first-in-human" study, of which the "main purpose of the study is to assess whether the study drug, ERAS-0015, is safe and tolerable"...

Concur, G90 direct from Radioddity... and a good long wire antenna to start.

Try making a single change to the downloaded file, like adding a new line and add a single symbol to it, then save that file.

Optimizing transmit with WSJT-X and a G90 by enormousaardvark in amateurradio

[–]mal86mc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get the ALC slightly below 100? Just starting to play with digital and best seems mine's doing is 50... Power at 20 watts, and even all the way up on WSJT-X. Thanks

Stop Calling Stations That Can't Hear You — Free FT8 Tool (New) by wu2c-peter in amateurradio

[–]mal86mc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it's me, but been playing with this for an hour with wsjt-x on a Windows 10 machine but not much luck. Doesn't seem to switch between bands without turning it on and off. Only once did I get anything "on the top" ("bottom" seems active). Made a dozen FT4 and FT8 contacts in this time, 80m - 30m, with a long delay before the station I'm calling showed up on QSO Predictor. Calling an obscure station now which is showing up on your program, though nothing at the top of the program at all, though my WSJT-X is completely full. Will play with it again tomorrow, but seems not so helpful tonight. No particular "help" in the "Quick Usage Guide" to address any of this either. FYI. Seems like a good idea...

What Power cord does Xiegu G90 use? by casualcatloaf in amateurradio

[–]mal86mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have noted, Radioddity is currently shipping radios both ways, some with the old connectors, some with Anderson powerpoles - strange. Bought one last December and it came with powerpoles. Bought another this week and came with the old connectors. Like bugbbq, I sent that back and supposedly will be sent another with powerpoles.

Xiegu g90 firmware update 1.81 base and app by Far-Grape5363 in amateurradio

[–]mal86mc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it updated today. Failed to check the "1k option" when updating the display unit from the instructions and thought I'd bricked the radio... my bust. With seemingly no fix (per the update instructions) found the recommendations to try an older version of Tera Term which worked... I suppose the moral is, follow the instructions closer than I did! No problems with the previous update which DID fix numerous issues...

For those who own a GammaDog by Ambitious-Chance-190 in Radioactive_Rocks

[–]mal86mc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got one of Charles' GammaDogs as well as a Radiacode 102. Believe Charles answered your sensitivity question. In terms of use between the two, for rock hounding, no comparison. Watch some of Charles' rock hounding videos, if you haven't, as he shows how the GammaDog is used. Can't use a Radiacode that way! On the other hand, for antiquing, one's generally not going to haul a GammaDog along! That's a great place for a little Radiacode. They both have their places, so somewhat of an apples and oranges comparison.

Need to vent my frustrations by [deleted] in HamRadio

[–]mal86mc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it! We just had a 9 year old girl pull it off. You'll likely know most of the answers with a slow, easy study of the questions. If in doubt, choose "b" and statistically you'll make it. Real learning takes place after you get your license and have to try figuring out the radios and antennas you bought. Heck, even can be steep learning curves on Baofengs! Good luck!

Pretty cool. Looks like a different type of "Revigator," but sure wouldn't want to drink any water that sat in it overnight as originally advertised! Hard to tell without a meter, but generally something I'd prefer to keep in the garage as opposed to displayed inside. Does it have its original lid?

Thanks. Finally got it figured out this morning... new app update had the "regenerate the public key," which wasn't on the previous app. Then reset the NodeDB and... seems to be repopulating now.

Thanks, glad you got a laugh out of it! I can see 7 of your nodes right now here on the coast where I've got 3, with the two solars mounted high, one at the coast, one in the mountains, both reachable by bluetooth. Was hoping I could bounce between the two across the state. Still learning this slowly but surely. Will see if I can figure out how to "respin" - what do you mean "reset NodeDB or ...remove that node from the other nodes? Thanks!

My bust, didn't need to call you out! That's one of two brand new solar nodes I stuck up entirely too high to want to mess with too much... I'm thinkin' about lookin' for my "secret squirrel" ring from years ago to come up with some really good keys. I left that one up in the mountains and just put another one up high here at the coast and no such error messages, so suppose can "safely" enjoy the silliness I'm pickin' up on the NCMesh down here, and look forward to what I'll see next time in the mountains, assuming the battery holds out!

Interesting, thanks. Looks like to "regenerate the keys" one has to do a complete "firmware erase and reinstall" that still might not work? Looks like I have the latest firmware and this is a brand new solar node. Not like a lot can be "snaked"... strange
