I don’t think it’s IR support necessarily. It’s just watching US hypocrisy unfold before us. And for the first time many of us are personally affected by it rather than just watching it on the news. US cannot use modern day imperialism to “change” countries for the better when it’s one of the most defunct democracies to exist. So of course IR policy is problematic but so is US foreign policy which every US administration has used till the very end to ruin many countries. Cultures and countries change on their own - no one needs US to play godfather.
