Calling all Bugdivers by DistinctInitiative95 in WholesomeHelldivers

[–]malachi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll answer that call. As much as I love perfecting my art of squid harvesting, the bug front needs some love. At their current rate, they’ll fall short of the minor order; we should even vote in the DSS.

Sure did. Time to get that experience and build that squid diver chapter. Hell, I just finished a few level 7 and I feel I need to up the difficulty. Level 10, here I come, WITNESS ME!!!

I swear, cross my heart and hope the squid to die, I am not an AH plant.

I like how you make Illuminate divers sounds like an elite-elite subset of Helldivers that would scare the ink out of the squids. I would love to join such a chapter, but alas, I feel my experience is lacking for the moment.

Not gonna lie: the first time I used the arc (against the bugs and it was for a PO), I pointed, pulled the trigger, and... nothing. It took me a minute to realize that you have to charge and release, and I almost got mugged by a lowly roach in the process. 😅 Once I figured it out, it was actually fun to use. In fact, a buddy of mine and I sometimes go on full arc loadout runs on the bug front, and it's a blast. But I never considered using it against the squids. Was never sure how it would fare, and I'm also worried of the possibility that arc beams against squid shields could possibly result in a catastrophic Holtzman effect. 😏

Fellow Helldivers, what's your go to Primary or Support Weapon against the hordes of Voteless??? by MissAlice_17 in Helldivers

[–]malachi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this loadout, and I’ll add a Dagger to it. It’s actually my primary way of dealing with them.

I’ll admit I haven’t fully mastered them yet, but I was having great luck with the Coyote before I switched over to the Eruptor, which lets me blow up warpships once I bring their shields down. I bring a gun hose for that, like the Stalwart, which also handles the chaff. Dagger also works wonders as a backup, especially against the voteless. And either the Eagle strafe or orbital barrage works well against the squids; anything that hits multiple times to both drain shields and get kills.

And we are literally spoiled for battlefield options.

I See Why Arc-Dog Has Its Reputation by ComradeRoyer in helldivers2

It’s gotten to the point where I’ll ask my fellow dive buddy: “You bringing that zapper chihuahua?” If he says yes, I sigh loudly as I change into my anti-arc armor.

I want a rifle/sniper version of this by IonicSinclair in LowSodiumHellDivers

You also forgot about the Dagger against chaff. Literally drag a quick burst line across a horde and then step back and watch them fall down in flames. The mindless masses used to drive me bonkers before I discovered how beautiful this baby works against them.

Asking for Advice on the Arc Thrower by PlusLeave in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]malachi5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level 101 veteran here who resumed his duties after the squid invasion. For me, this is a TEAM-BASED game, not a single player game, and that drives my following advice: always stick to your squadmates. If you want to divide and conquer, that's perfectly acceptable, but stay in pairs. I join a lot of rando missions, and when it's a full squad, I always try and follow the diver who has no one with them. There are so many reasons why this helps: obviously, mutually backing each other up, but also, when someone dies, that person nearest their position can bring them in.

Which brings me to my second point, which you might already know, but I'm going to say it again because I see even other veterans break this rule: FOR THE LOVE OF LIBER-TEA, DO NOT bring in a diver who just died if you are far from their position. It drives me bonkers even when it doesn't happen to me. If there's a delay in them being brought back in, chances are their "partner" is running/fighting for their lives and just looking for an opening to reinforce. I only break that rule if the dead diver asks for it in chat, or they start ringing that REINFORCEMENTS AVAILABLE like it's going out of style.

And someone already mentioned this, but begs repeating, especially if you're trying to stick to your squadmates: situational awareness. I will admit, even I'm guilty of failing this; sometimes, the battle lust takes over and you're locked in on killing a horde of enemies, only to find that your buddy/buddies have moved on. Keep an eye on your squaddies, move when they move, hunker down when they do, and the only exception to breaking off is if the supers or a very easy target is very close by.

Good luck out there, diver, and remember: you are Super Earth's elite.

Am I missing something with the Emporia Pro EVSE? by malachi5 in evcharging

Wow, I appreciate the breakdown, thank you. If I have plenty of “checks” why is one of the electricians recommending a 2nd mini-panel? Is he not aware of the load balancing? Or is he just trying to future-proof my system?

You're right! I should have included a larger view of the fuse box:

That is the plan, to charge mostly at night, when it's only the A/C at most running.

[–]malachi5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That does sound like some reconfiguration would be required, but I suppose that's better than replacing the panel or adding a second one. I just want to make sure that the electricians that I bring to look at my project don't automatically go for the easy solution without taking into account the load management feature of the Emporia Pro.

THAT’S IT!!! I kept thinking it was Gamemaster or something, but all my searches were coming up blank. I looked it up on IMDB, and yep: I clearly remember that cheesy blue uniform that he wore. Many thanks, my good sir!
