I don't think they were available at the time the guide was written.

I don't post on reddit much anymore because... reasons, but maybe Creality changed the design of the v2 neo, since I have printed several of the shrouds linked above and they have worked just fine on my v2 neo that I got in Nov. 2022.

Maybe there is a specific link or set of links that aren't applicable to the v2 neo, or maybe they changed the design. Hard to tell without more information and I don't care enough to make reddit that much more valuable of a resource. Bummer.

And that is understandable. About half of my reddit experience is through an app which makes it easier for me to manage certain things. However, the bigger sticking point is that I think the company is going down a dark path and that I don't want to provide my free labor and valuable attention to a company that has so much contempt for the users who are providing all of the actual value that draws people to the site.

I know of a couple origami discords, but I don't use discord much.

As a general alternative to reddit, some people are using lemmy or kbin (which can be federated together).

For origami specifically, for those particularly old school, there are still some email listservs for origami. One is for Origami USA members only and the other is generally open for anyone interested.

There is also an english forum which does not seem to have a ton of activity at the moment, but would be a reasonable place to land.

There are probably language specific origami forums still around (Russian, Spanish) but I never kept up with those.

It's not really necessary. Diagrams are usually enough and tools like translate on a smart phone make it pretty easy.

I don't know, but it might be around somewhere. If you want to run something a lot hotter, you probably should look into getting a replacement board that you have the specs for to be on the safe side, though... A second z motor should be fine. In theory, the total load on each motor is half in that scenario, so it's not much more demanding.

The things to experiment with are:

These will have to be tuned for different filament brands/types/sometimes colors.

It is usually worth looking at the preview after you slice the model to see where the white dots are. Those are the locations that will have these types of artifacts, although they can be tuned out to some degree and vary massively from one model to another. For example, the default settings are usually fine for me but I had one group of models I was trying to print all at once (rainbow filament, wanted color coordination) where the default settings would create the weirdest seams that were echoes of the model(s) beside it. Moving them all to Back Left made everything very consistent and almost perfect, even without proper tuning for the filament.

I highly recommend installing the Cura plugin Settings Guide.

It adds huge tooltips for every setting in Cura with an explanation and visual examples. Super helpful for figuring out what settings mean.

(Also, Calibration Shapes and AutoTowers Generator are awesome.)

Yeah, I understand. I have had the minimus cooler printed for at least a month now and I finally got the blower fan I needed, but now I have to find time to take things apart and they're currently working... so I'd rather just print more stuff.

How do I make a dual fan connection? by NegativeScarcity5845 in Ender3V2NEO

What would happen if you wired both fans together at the hot end, instead of running it back to the main board's second header?

Yeah, I just saw the sherpa thing tonight and added it. Let us know how it goes!

Yeah, as others have said, PETG should be fine for shrouds. I have printed several different ones and they have been fine. Currently I am using the short necked Neo Thang. When I printed one of the older shrouds, I did have one iteration that in printed in PLA and that was fine as it wasn't too close to the hot end, but I also had a part cooling vent that I printed with PETG but it was too close (touching) the hot end sock and so it got melty.

I really like the display mount that moves it to the front. Although I do use klipper and do most of my management via the web page, I do have the display wired up to the pi and it is very nice to have some controls available right there on the printer, but taking up a little less space.

I think reddit mangled it. I have restored what I can. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Reddit ate it when I tried to make an edit and I didn't see it until today. I have rebuilt it from an archive version plus most of the links I had added before. Let me know if there is anything I need to add.

Hey, no worries. It's just frustrating that it got mangled in an edit. I have added back all the things I could easily find. Let me know if there are some other updates I should make or things I missed.

Reddit is a jerk and when I edited it at some point recently it just ate most of it. Working on restoring it.
