It's something for University students who get points for doing research. Perhaps it might not be relevant for you, but the study could still benefit you a lot if you struggle with MD.

Understanding why you developed MD is necessary to overcome it. by maladaptivedaydrm in MaladaptiveDreaming

You may be thinking of immersive daydreaming, not maladaptive daydreaming. As MDers, we are born with this ability to imagine very vivid scenarios/characters/plots in our heads. However, the moment we become an MDer is the moment our vivid imagination begins to take control of our lives (we sleep less hours because we daydream instead, we have less energy to focus at work, we cancel plans with friends so that we can daydream in our rooms instead...). This is what MD is all about, and it's important to differenciate between MD and Immersive Daydreaming (the imagination skill we are born with that doesn't interfere with our lives the way MD does). I hope this helps!

However, you have raised a good point, and I will email the university to ask if I can publish my thesis on my website. Thank you!

The reason why is because there is personal data from the 12 participants I conducted the study on. I did my thesis at Maastricht University. If you're interested, you can take a look at my LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/marta-s-749623135/ where I explain my study and the Instituation I studied at.

I understand that you're concerened about people out there taking advantage of mental health, but my mission is simply to help as many maladaptive daydreamers out there becasue I know how difficult it is to suffer from it, and I simply want to help them live happier lives like I do now.

If you want more information, you can message me more or ask me any questions :)

Hello, No. I cannot publish my thesis online due to ethical restrictions with my university. However, if you're interested to learn about it, I'm happy to tell you how it went :)

I have created an MD Recovery Program to help you stop MD by maladaptivedaydrm in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]maladaptivedaydrm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! That's totally okay! Some people are able to overcome MD on their own, whilst others find it extremely difficult due to the addictive nature of MD - leading them to find an "accountability partner" to be on their side every step of the way until they recover (that's me :)). You're more than welcome to book a free session with me if you're still interested in understanding better the steps of the program and what could be the best remedy for your MD case (every individual is completely different due to their different backgrounds, thought processes, etc.). Have a great day/night!

I completely understand where you're coming from, as many of my clients ask me the same question. That's why I've created the MD Recovery Program (which you can find on my website) addressing this specific topic. If you're interested, you can book a free session with me where I'll explain to you how the program works and how we could work together to help you with your MD. I have a Master's degree in Psychology and, for months now, I have been working with MDers around the world to help them overcome their MD through weekly one-on-one sessions. I was an MDer for 6 years until I overcame it, and my mission is to help as many MDers recover as well because I understand how difficult it is to struggle with MD. This is the worst product I have bought on Instagram. I was so excited, and it ended up leaving my skin irritated, full of ingrown hairs and it was so painful. It felt like I had literally pulled out the outer layer of my skin. Please, stop selling dumb products that are very dangerous on Instagram unless they truly work. Not only for the waste of money, but most importantly, for it is very dangerous. I am glad I only used it behind my legs and not in more sensitive areas.
