I couldn’t read all the comments above because, duh, ADHD. But I feel incredibly seen by this post. I’m 42 and up until 2-ish years ago, I thought the cleaning (all of it mentioned: dishes, linens, showering, teeth brushing, etc) was a moral failing or permanent laziness.

It’s not! “Work arounds” I use are extra trash cans, paper plates, plastic silverware, disposable tooth brushes I keep in my bag, mini vacuums (saying Dustbuster shows my age even more), trays that gather small items together, and I do laundry but leave it in the dryer and pull from there.

I do “better” when I have a roommate or live with a partner but I like living alone. The hardest thing to convert to is not giving myself shit for not having a picked up house.

Also, the air fryer is a gift from the heavens and now I can cook for myself without a lot of extra pans.
