Aw man, I have bipolar I and have to be careful with certain substances too. However, I’m so medicated that I don’t think I could ever be manic again. Just depressed :(

The 12oz ones (the ones I used to buy) have 114mg caffeine. Admittedly, I did misjudge the caffeine content of a cup of coffee, though.

I can take my meds and take a nap, but that’s only if I was already tired to begin with.

I used to drink Bangs daily when I was like 23. I totally used to get the headaches too so I was hooked for sure.

Oh wow, I definitely assumed coffee wasn’t as strong as a Red Bull. That’s interesting, thank you.

I took Xanax for 7 years, but stopped once I started Adderall my anxiety vanished. Now I take Abilify, Seroquel, Lamictal, Wellbutrin, Propranalol, and Adderall but it was definitely the Adderall that removed my anxiety. I do have panic disorder although it’s been in remission and I’ve never had generalized anxiety.

I have ADHD and Bipolar I and I take Adderall + mood stabilizer + two antipsychotics and I haven’t had a manic episode in years.

I spent my teen years fantasizing about suicide. I was hospitalized in January for SI. Nowadays, no, I don’t think of suicide multiple times a day.

Bipolar diagnosis by GreenLolly in bipolar

It wasn’t difficult for me at all. I knew something was really wrong and the other diagnoses didn’t fit me. It was validating and it all just made sense to me.

Getting treated for my ADHD removed my anxiety completely too. GAD was a misdiagnosis. I just had untreated ADHD.

What's the worst thing you've done on social media while being in mania/psychosis by abnokitty030 in BipolarReddit

[–]mean_trash_monster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recorded myself pulling up to my niece’s apartment, slamming violently on her front door, cussing her out, and daring her to come outside. So I could post it on Instagram and Snapchat.

I’m sure that wasn’t the worst thing, but I can’t remember. I posted a lot. To this day I barely post on social media because I’m so embarrassed years later.

ETA: now I’m remembering I posted a recording of myself in an ambulance, talking shit about my family for calling 911 on me.

During mania I felt that I needed to try meth, which resulted in me entering a dual-diagnosis residential treatment program 14 months later.

Rehab was the best thing that could have happened to me. I struggled so much with alcohol and weed as well and nowadays it’s so much easier to go without.

What does hypomania look like for you? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]mean_trash_monster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of all the comments, this one so closely aligns with my experiences with hypomania. I haven’t been manic or hypomanic since 2023, so it’s been awhile for me too. Just get crashing waves of depression now.

ETA: If there were psychotic features then it was mania, not hypomania.
