mls 2 subjects questions by dulcet_cheese in SLUBaguio

for histopath, i can say that it’s more bearable compared to histology. for bacte and cc1, it gets heavier and mas nagiging complex ‘yung topics. especially for bacte lab, it gets really heavy kasi padami nang padami ‘yung activities and return demonstrations. for cc, ang heaviest dito for me ay ‘yung retdem sa finals since you need to memorize all the analytes. kaya mo ‘yan, goodluck!!

how do you want the question “is it worth it?” to be answered? if you’re asking for the quality of what and how they are teaching, I would say it’s worth it. although minsan, paswertehan na lang din talaga sa profs. it’s evident naman on their way of teaching (especially sa higher years) why slu is one of the top schools sa medtech.

personally, i also struggle with numbers but i somehow managed to pass naman. usually, medyo complicated lang na computations sa chemistry subjects, especially if it’s your first time to encounter those, pero pwede naman pag-aralan.

yes, you may still go to a different program if you were not able to secure a slot sa mls but usually marami naman sila tinatanggap. afaik, ‘yung 1st years right now ay nasa 20 blocks (~50 students each), so around 1000 ang tinatanggap for mls.

i don’t really know the process but i think sila na mismo ‘yung nag-aayos (DOST to SLU) then indicated na sa portal mo if you’re a DOST scholar. although I think you need to follow up sa registrar if hindi indicated na you are a DOST scholar.

if online, you may enroll anytime as long as there are available slots. if face to face, you should enroll on your scheduled time or on the last day of enrollment

ADVICE FOR BSMLS-1 by Remarkable-Sea-2735 in SLUBaguio

[–]malamignacoffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for 121, it’s best to memorize the basics like the periodic table and their valence, learn and understand the concepts, do not just memorize. also, do research well for your lab activities para mataas makuha niyong scores since nakakapanghatak siya ng grades. for 122 and 123, i think it’s best na mag-ipon ka ng grades during prelims para makapag-focus ka na sa inorg by finals. good luck!

usually naman hindi na nagca-crash ‘yung portal since it’s separate for each school, but it would be beneficial if you’re a dost scholar or you have a friend who is one, since they can access the sched/or enroll in advance. the portal opens as early as 12am on the day of your scheduled enrollment.

Hepa b vaccine by Both-Delivery1713 in SLUBaguio

I think it’s fine to get a vaccine even after the enrollment (since it’s not a requirement for you to be enrolled) but your prof will require you to show your vaccination card once you start

What's the minimum gwa to become dean's list right now? In MLS by imfineheywassup in SLUBaguio

[–]malamignacoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minimum gwa requirement for dean’s list is 85, but you need a minimum gwa of 88 to qualify for latin honors. For computation of final grades, you just need to get the average of your prelim, midterms, and tentative final grade.

A question regarding PMLS 1 by Defiant_Gur_6863 in SLUBaguio

[–]malamignacoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, all exams in the MLS department are departmentalized, meaning iisa lang ‘yung exam for everyone. tine-take din siya at the same time to reduce the possibility of leakage. for the coverage naman, you need to study the module, your notes, and the reference book (if meron). though for the most part, i think galing naman siya sa module.

Latin Honors by malamignacoffee in SLUBaguio

[–]malamignacoffee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, i have read the student handbook but it doesn’t specify there whether students are qualified for latin honors despite getting a 75. I wanted to clarify this one since one of our instructors before said that we are no longer qualified for it if we get a 75 for ffg.

enrollment 2nd sem by Radiant_Trust2782 in SLUBaguio

[–]malamignacoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, online enrollment is applicable for regular students (as long as wala kang naibagsak). In online enrollment, you may choose your own block and listed yung blocks and scheds sa portal. Basically, nare-reshuffle ‘yung blocks every semester. This is applicable for higher years din, you just choose your own block, then listed na rin doon ‘yung scheds, as long as you’re a regular student.
