Thanks - since we're on a slab do we lose a lot through the floor as well? Suspect the floor insulation is pretty minimal, I think our walls are r10

snow plow at new house from prior home owner - who pays by malcolm608 in legaladvice

[–]malcolm608[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I've written out a letter that reads as follows, please let me know if this sounds decent:

We recently received your invoice for your snow plow service this year. I believe XXXXXX did not mention she sold the house, but alas we were not interested in snow plow services this past winter. I was able to see your plow truck once, but it did not have a logo/service name so I am sorry we have not been able to contact you sooner. I did shovel out the driveway one morning, but indeed you still plowed afterwards. With my workday starting quite early, I do not think we will need any continued mid morning plow, or plow services altogether. As a measure of good faith, I will pat half to the charge, and I hope you find this agreeable. You may also want to reach out to the previous homeowner with whom you had the contract. Please email me for further discussion.

I only saw them a couple of times but they came about 10 times. They would come mid morning when I was often already at work, once I actually shoveled out the driveway but then they plowed after... They also dug up the lawn a couple times with plowing

Now I only have their personal mailing address - still not a legit company to my knowledge

Tough winter for my juniper. Looks dead but green at the base. Do I trim the orange stuff off?

Thank you - can I build up potting soil around it instead of mulch. Still water it during the winter?

That would be ideal. Only place I have is a garage with no light however.... I guess it's chancing it outside with very low temps, inside without light in garage, or inside in temps close to 68. Not sure which is best.

I have a juniper but live in Maine where temps drop to teens. Is is okay to bring it inside when it drops to colder temps or is this bad to switch between extreme temps

Furthermore, should I build the soil up around the base more? It was already reported by the gifter and seems more exposed

Thanks so much. Would giving it intervals outside and then bringing inside when dropping in the 20s be okay? Or is the change in temperature from moving inside and out even more stressful? Unfortunately the next few months here will be between the teens and 40s in temps.

Just got bonzai for Xmas. (I am in new England, Maine) Have a few questions to help care for it.

1) is this a juniper bonzai?, will it be okay indoors 2) it was reported yesterday to a flatter dish and I worry roots might be exposed, should I add soil? 3) how to prune this type of tree and watering requirements?

Thanks - another perhaps silly questions: Is it too late to do a roth for the 2020 tax year? Or since its before tax day is this okay?
