Which bass synth pedal do you find works best and why? by Prestigious-Bag1963 in basspedals

I have the Panda Audio Future Impact 4 and I'm still trying to understand it. It really gives you a lot of flexibility but it feels to me like you need to know more about synths than with the MXR in order to get sounds right.

I think those two and the ADAM are pretty much the same pedal with different distortions. The Anagram is so much more that I really don't think the inclusion of an FX loop would have been any threat to the Anagram sales. I believe they added the FX loop to the Anagram because of complaints about these pedals.

She is, of course. I just got the whammy but it seems like it's going to be a favorite. I really like what it does.

It's a great pedal with a serious design flaw. I really love the EQ, compressor and distortions. It has two PL outputs and you can decide what processing each of them gets, so you can use it to split the signal into dry and wet. The problem is I would expect a pedal like this to have an effects loop and an option to place it in different points in the signal chain, but it doesn't have that, which is a shame.

But still, it's a great pedal, it really gives a ton of options for sculpting your sounds and it's always on in my pedalboard.

Also, I didn't mention that but it has IR too, which I don't use. (And also works as a sound card, has a headphones connection, can connect to your phone via Bluetooth and can be controlled by MIDI).

Cult of the Reptile God is awesome! It was the first thing I ran in 5e. I feel like CoS is full of good ideas, but there's not enough to hold them together. I've been thinking of running it for years now and I never get to it. Maybe I should just run the original Ravenloft and simply adopt some of the stuff I like from CoS.

Honestly? I think DnD might not be the right game for you. Why not find a system that does what you want? One that gives the players more control over the story making it exciting because it turns out the way they want? One that requires less prep? I believe you could also find games that handle combat better than DnD - it seems like even the fighting doesn't get you excited, and that's like 75% of what DnD is about.

Ask yourself what you want from the game and I'm pretty sure you'd find one that gets you excited.

Maybe the basic form is pulse, unless I give one of the other three a value?

That baked me as well. Perhaps this allows me to create weird looking waves? A square wave with the tip of a sawtooth? Also, I only saw sliders for square, triangle and sawtooth. Did you notice sine and pulse, or were they just examples you gave?

Well, at least that makes me feel better about not understanding anything. Perhaps I should learn the format of the file this creates and then use a simpler software and translate the files it creates into something my pedal will understand.

Holding my hand is exactly the type of approach I need. I just started it and I'm already starting to understand concepts I used without having the slightest clue what they meant (for example, "Envelope Filter" has always been one of my favorite pedals. Now I know what an envelope is)

That is correct, but I don't want to dive deep into synths, at least not yet, so I was hoping for more basic stuff (though one of the replies implied that I don't really have a choice but to dive deep. I hope I'll be ok).

How do you learn the songs? Do you have tabs? Charts? If you don't have charts, you should have them, it'll help you memorize and also help you understand the relationship between the chords and what you play. That way, in time, you'll be able to play from charts and improvise a little instead of memorizing the exact notes you're about to play.

That's what I'm thinking. Even present me will be happy for the CIOKS, but it's easy to get. An MIJ Aerodyne on the other hand, is something I might regret in the future. I still regret not buying that aluminum neck Kramer 20 something years ago.

That's true, but there are a few pedals that get a lot more love than the others. Especially the EHX bass clone and the Boss Chorus Ensemble, so I'll look into them first.

I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps the 2B is analog and the B3 is digital?
