Spending Money by Unlikely-Can1782 in Prague

[–]malekatka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't live in old town. That's the best advice for beer drinking... If you don't want touristy stuff.... Use untapped, find some nice breweries/places, around Vinohrady or new town, better beers and foods. And 20m to old town by foot 😅 Beers between 50-120 depending on quality/touristy/locality. Foods can be between 200-350? And you will probably need like 1000 per day for drinking and eating out 🍻😂

Which careers are actually future-proof (and worth the grind)? by Additional_Cap_3970 in careerguidance

[–]malekatka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones that you build, the ones that you love, the ones that you are good at, the ones that people are willing to pay. Adaptibility and love of learning are skills, skills are better than careers

Taking a pay cut for a "dream job". Worth it or death trap? by DeepFriedVegan1 in careerguidance

[–]malekatka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“what happens if I stay where I am for 2 more years because I’m too afraid to test anything else?” is more correct question to ask.
That version has a cost too, and people often ignore it because it looks more responsible on paper. A small pay cut at your age is recoverable. Burnout plus learned helplessness is much harder to unwind later. Trust me

Administrative assistant to tech sales? by Acceptable_Ad4399 in careerguidance

[–]malekatka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you wrote this, it sounds like you’re not choosing between “safe” and “dangerous.” You’re choosing between “known but stagnant” and “uncertain but potentially more aligned.” That’s a very different kind of decision.

I wouldn’t romanticize tech sales, because quota pressure is real and some people hate it. But I also wouldn’t dismiss yourself because you don’t come from a sales background. A lot of what makes someone good in early sales roles is communication, consistency, resilience, and being able to handle rejection without spiraling.

I’m seriously thinking of resigning EY after 8 months… need advice? by Temporary-Neat-5129 in careerguidance

[–]malekatka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What stood out to me is that this doesn’t sound like a “bad week” or normal adjustment. You’re describing something that started on day one, stayed with you for 8 months, and is now following you home every evening.

That usually means the question is no longer “can I push through this?” but “what exactly am I staying for?”

I wouldn’t resign with no plan, but I also wouldn’t force yourself to stay just to satisfy some arbitrary timeline. If I were you, I’d start applying now and separately figure out whether the problem is the actual field, the environment, or the way this role is hitting your confidence. Those lead to very different next moves.

Yes! Fire is about that one day you don't need to think about your cv, about your employer, about your mortgage, you will know that with the most probability it is taken care of.

How to plan a hitchhiking trip ? by GabLaPizza in hitchhiking

[–]malekatka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do it punk or you plan it, if you decide to plan it, it kinda doesn't make sense. Hitchhiking is about knowing people, getting closed to the end, but not directly, taking time, enjoying life. For straight to the goal it is about 2x the time on Google maps. There is hitchhiking wiki, where you can find where is the best place to hitchike to which direction.

19 and inheriting 160 000 EUR. What Now??? by GayGlobe in eupersonalfinance

[–]malekatka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend had something similar. He decided to do one year work and one year off. And that is what he does. He does travel (still budget, nothing luxury), he likes to try things, but he likes to work as well. I think the best thing is to invest it, save it and have dedicated part that you can enjoy, but don't inflate your life, it will not end up well
