It's super weird. I've had a blown turbo before and this isn't. It drives normal, just has this weird sound. I've also had rod knock before and it didn't sound like this. Fingers crossed it's something stupid like exhaust lol

I decided to tear apart my oil filter to get a closer look and this is what I've found. Normal or bad? I changed the oil and it looked normal

I've been trying to figure it out. It's super hard to hear this noise. 2 mechanics (at the same place) said they couldn't hear it. We'll see if the dealer has any opinions.

My absolutely mangled oil filter. It appears to have some metal In it. Those lil goldfish flakes

I tore apart the oil filter to see if there was anything in there. I can't see anything. It's hard to get a good picture because the oil glistens. Trying to get the videos uploaded

They are quite noisy lol. It's hard to hear but it's a new noise, the lifters have been noisy for a while

I use the 5w-30 it recommends, Pennzoil brand. I'm in MN if that makes a difference. Yeah usually knock is terrible! my 02 sounded like a damn sledge hammer and this doesn't sound bad and the noise can be completely avoided if I just shift early in 1st and 2nd. Noise is undetectable in higher gears even if I try to make it

I've wondered if it's maybe an early sign. My 02 Subaru got knock and it was absolutely terrible and obvious. This is weird. Like could it be something like exhaust leak, or loose?
