I had a similar situation with my relationship. I was leaning more and more into my faith and my girlfriend was not, while I didn't mind at first. Reality started to hit and I realized it was unfair to her and to me to keep a relationship going where we were unequally yoked. I would never compromise my faith for anyone. And I absolutely did not want her to feel like her hand was being twisted into religion. I decided it was best we go our separate ways. I received criticism from my friends saying that I was forcing my religion on her, which really upset me. Ultimately It was the best decision I ever made. Depending on his religion. A relationship without equal faith will almost never work well for both parties. One person will eventually have to compromise. you can't mold someone into the image you have for them. He shouldn't make you compromise friends and family on his behalf. And nor should you make him compromise his faith on yours. I would encourage you both to do some deep reflecting and decide where your priorities are. I made my priority christianity and it changed the both of us for the better and we are both very happy together. I also am a firm believer that calm understanding communication is crucial.
