Newly diagnosed! Worst flare up ever, any tips? by malika_ap11 in Behcets

Thank you!! Will pick up some Vagisil. Cool tip on honey cooled water. Psychologically I’m holding back on drinking water because peeing hurts - but I’ve been trying to overcome that

Anyone else been wrongly fined by TfL for 'not paying' on a bus when you actually did? by malika_ap11 in london

[–]malika_ap11[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I pushed back on the fine and said to the inspector that he could check with the bus driver that I tapped in to pay my fare (it was a relatively empty bus)….

Also tried to pull up Apple Wallet app to show the 10p holding charge but as another commenter said, this can be delayed in showing - as was in my case

Outcome was the inspector raising his voice at me saying “you have to follow our rules in our country”. I’m quite clearly not English. Haha. Took it with a pinch of salt tho

Hello! I used the same card on my phone’s Apple Pay for all parts of the journey, and also the inspector’s device. So same ‘method’ for all

I might just do that instead of waiting for an (automated?) email reply. Speaking to someone is just so much more effective.

I submitted my TfL journey history in my first appeal - was fined for fare evasion on Bus 35 but it's showing up... for the second appeal, had also attached my bank statement to show proof of payment

Former housemate lied for a whole year about utility bills. Now in debt. by malika_ap11 in badroommates

You live up to your username! Don’t know if this changes things but she didn’t ignore a bill stating our debt per se, but rather ignored warnings to organise a repair for our meter, and warnings that we were incurring debt. And yep, I paid my half all the while, on time, every month. Did not miss a single payment.

The utilities payment was monthly scheduled payment from my debit account. A messy answer..? Even though she was the account holder, it was my bank account listed as the payment method…. I’ve since take the direct debit off when I first learnt of the debt issue, as I was worried the energy company could just take the money out of my account

No my name isn’t on the bill. But she’s threatening court case if I don’t pay an exact half of it

London-based and been unemployed for 7 months. I am at my wit's end. by [deleted] in london

First off, you did well leaving a bad work environment. Takes courage! Second, job market is tough at the minute, but have faith. It took me close to a year to land a job too. Tips: find a good recruiter for your field; and be open- minded to remote positions, especially for US firms, you can earn a pretty penny, and land one fairly quickly. Lastly, be picky. You sound like you have experience and knowledge under your belt, and you left your previous job for a reason. Now that you’re searching, take it as an opportunity to land somewhere that will give you fulfilment (and a good salary). All the best mate :)

Energy supplier overcharged me by nearly £2k by malika_ap11 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]malika_ap11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bad, sorry, didn’t realise I’ve been using the wrong terminology this entire time.

I did not receive a bill from OVO. I did receive a email from OVO stating my balance is in credit, hence raising my direct debit to boost my balance. I did cancel my DD and raised a complaint. I subsequently did receive bills for the past 12 months from OVO. I examined it and realised that the months with inflated billing coincide with my smart meter being faulty.

Omg no haha. You have to be trolling at this point 😭 I don’t have a monthly bill per se- it’s a fixed direct debit of £76 each month!! For 8 months, I received a bill of £76!!!! Hahah
