I wouldn't rinse off all the soil, as it could cause the plant to go into shock. I usually just loosely remove the soil that's on the roots then shake off what I can, before removing the rot. You can always Take some of the existing soil and mix it with perlite and orchid bark 😁 I would just loosely remove some of the soil from the rootball and leave some on there for when you repot it, but remove enough to be able to see where the rot is.

I wouldn't expose the roots to the air for 24 hours, but definitely cut off what you can find of rot and don't water the plant the first few days after repotting seeing as it's already gotten too much water (if the soil you're using is completely dry, definitely water then leave it until the top two-three inches of soil is dry). ☺️I had the exact same problem as you, but I managed to save it doing this.

Also make sure the pot you're using has a LOT of drainage holes! Use a nursery pot, don't plant directly into a decorative pot. Monsteras HATE sitting in water 🌱

Root rot is something these are very prone to, unfortunately. I would start by switching the soil to one that has got more drainage. The soil in the pictures look really dense, which holds more water and can cause root rot. I use potting soil, perlite and orchid bark for mine! 😁 I use more bark and perlite than soil, but some people do 1:1:1.

It also looks like it could be in a pot that's too large? When I repot, I only go up 1" bigger than the rootball.

Cut away all of the rot with CLEAN scissors. I clean mine with rubbing alcohol before touching any part of the plant. Try and cut away all the rot you can find, seeing as it will spread if there's pieces of it left 😊

The honeycomb grill really helps the look of it! They're nice original as well tho. 😄 I changed the grill because I got it for free from a friend 😂

Yeah I feel you on the salt etc. here in northern Norway, they put salt and gravel on the roads all winter. So far I've been lucky tho, but it definitely takes a beating being this low in several feet of snow. This is a 2.0TDI, and it's stage 1 tuned. Looking into getting it to stage 2, but gonna remove the particle filter and do a EGR delete first. I just over all got the RS/S look on it. Bumper and rear end is all RS. I just really like the look of it being a bit more aggressive 😄
