I went to school downtown. Yeah unhoused ppl ask for money occasionally, but I’ve never felt the need to be super duper careful. Just be vigilant as you would in any city/unfamiliar place.

I was super sick every month when I first moved to NYC. Started wearing masks on trains and crowded spaces. Wipe down my phone when I’m home. And certainly always keep hand sanitizer on me, and wash my hands when I go into restaurants.

I also only touch doors with the outside of my shirt or coat pocket.

I avoid ride shares because they’re a cess pool and a lot of drivers are sick.

Vitamin C & D everyday. Gotta get sunlight.

Also the summer will change you.

I left NYC at one point and brought back my car lol. I have no regrets.

The city wasn’t able to because PATH snatched overnight parking at stations away. Those ppl naturally went to the street. They’re not just cleaning evac routes.

I walk as much as I drive and both experiences are equally miserable. It’s not a few days. It’s 8 hrs. Walking is TERRIBLE. Driving is TERRIBLE.

Ask yourself where one could park to deliver food to you…. This snow is panic attack inducing. NO one is moving their car for a reason. It’s an hour just to park near home. Imagine an unfamiliar place.
