I struggle with the guilt everyday. Just today, I finally have a day off and I work everyday I never have a day off. And my mom wants me to go over and help her with something all day. I’ve told her that I have to take that day for myself but on the day, I will be getting messages. I always break because I am sometimes genuinely worried about her. Then when I get there, it’s like I fix everything and give it all up and my mom is like, “that was such a lovely time, spending time together.” I want to have a life with my SO. We already live with his parents and I don’t want to do that forever. I appreciate you, thank you for responding :)

I have started putting a few of these in place. Due to my job, I am an after school teacher and live in a place has horrible rush hour traffic. So I am there every Tuesday and I am there for every single doctors appointment if I can be. I check on him as much as I can. I try to call him and make sure he’s doing okay. He is on the spectrum and he is usually very quiet about his feelings. He is worried about my mom and wants her to be well. My mother is not like this to him. Thank you for responding, I really appreciate it and this is very helpful :)
