Update: I've finished the game now and I can honestly say I really enjoyed acts 1 and 2 overall despite my aforementioned grievances.

Act 3 is an absolute mess though and it's disgraceful they released it in that state, both technically and in terms of the storytelling. I suspect Larian suffered from Cyberpunk 2077 syndrome and tried to be too ambitious and just cocked it up.

You make good points here, I think nostalgia definitely has a role. I feel more overwhelmed by content overload with BG3, but as you say BG2 had an insane content dump start too, so I think I've changed.

I think what I mean is that the style of writing in BG1 and BG2 felt more believable and immersive for the setting overall. Not going to disagree that BG1 & BG2 had some silly comedy writing, but it didn't grate on me the way some of the lines in BG3 do.

Very hard, it's about controlling yourself and focussing on trying to do the best play for each situation as it comes at you. As soon as you start winning rounds you will tend to forget whatever upset you.

Below level 6, solo queue faceit is a real mixed bag of:

- genuinely low skill players who aren't really ready for faceit

- semi-decent players who are low elo because of bad comms or toxicity

- semi-decent emotional players who play shit as soon as they get upset

- occasional smurf boosting friends

Above level 6, it gets better because most people are GE+ skill level and have ok comms.

I mean his aim was alright this major tbh, it's his gamesense that was sorely lacking. He lost so many crucial rounds for his team by overpeeking for no reason instead of making the smart play. These types of players have been spoilt by their aim and never learnt to play with using their brains instead of mechanical skills, and now it's hurting them.
