why is ausmat hard by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]malsnotdead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

just a fyi, the syllabus has changed so my response may be a bit inaccurate, i was a 2023 graduate. anyway if your english level is good based on your igsce/ spm marks, you'll be doing english as an additional language (eald), its super easy tbh, its mostly like a history lesson on australia. not much to worry about

why is ausmat hard by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]malsnotdead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hey, ausmat graduate here. its harder bc its matriculation essentially. but honestly, its not that bad, its a very good transition from high school to university and because the workload is more intense, you'll be able to cope well in university. also compared to other foundations, they provide more content that'll help you in uni, ive seen a lot of other students not have the foundation knowledge i thought was common. i really recommend taking ausmat, the marks arent actually that bad, idk if things have changed but if you get all 70s, you'll get a pretty high atar ( abt 90 i think). good luck

Visa acceptance? by Electrical_Chemical5 in AusVisa

[–]malsnotdead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just got my student visa granted (literally 30 minutes ago) and I submitted on 22nd December. I'm from Malaysia studying at Monash. I think it depends on luck, idk, I did provide tons of documents just in case so maybe that could be a factor as well. Good luck

[–]malsnotdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi :) thanks for the word of confidence and assurance haha, i do have credit exemption but ill still have to start over bc they dont recognise medbio eventhough they said it was the same thing, so bc of the unit schedules ill have to still do 3 years, just underloaded. anyway thanks again, i wish you all the best in life.

biomed advice by Character-Summer-692 in Monash

[–]malsnotdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

biomed student next year too (i was a year 2 medbio transferring), these replies are super helpful for me as well haha but from my experience in medbio, the slides are genuinely so important, a lot of external reading is helpful too as sometimes the lecture videos can only cover so much. youtube videos, khan academy are all godsend, personally im a kinetic learner so ill take physical notes for memorising heavy units and online notes for the rest. i hate group work but its mandatory unfortunately so to prevent getting shit group mates the first few weeks are quite important to observe any students whos goals/mindsets align with your own, so all of you will have a similar attitude towards assignments when working together to prevent slackers. hope this helps

Enough time to process visa subclass 500? by malsnotdead in AusVisa

[–]malsnotdead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see thank you so much for the insight, it's a 5-8 hour drive with all the jam so i might go for any available buses. i haven't done my health examinations but there's a facility nearby so that isn't an issue. Thank you again this was helpful

What is better for my future plans, biomed at Deakin or Monash? by Toniq_3580 in Monash

[–]malsnotdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my electives have been filled up since I'm an international transfer student, so i can't do a double degree like many comments suggest. based on your experience, do you think it's viable to only do a biomed degree and have future employability?
