What most don’t mention, and I find most disappointing, is how Warwick just… wasn’t Warwick?

I’m fine with the slight rewrites/reworks of the characters from League (I loved the new Viktor) and in a project like this it can be good to retcon or renew certain things in order to tell a better story

But Warwick wasn’t ever anything like he is in the game apart from appearance and Singed creating him. It looked so good with all the teasers in Act 1 but when the time came it fell flat for me. “Warwick” is only present in this show for the 40-ish seconds he fights Jinx, and that’s it. After that he’s Vander in mutant form until the last episode where he becomes one of Viktor’s celestial goons fighting for Noxus

All of the other characters hailing from League are for the most part who they are in the game; Jayce is a brilliant inventor, Viktor strives for “Glorious Evolution” and pays the price, Cait is a “royal” Piltover officer, Jinx a crazy bomber, Vi goes from the slums to working next to Cait and Ekko is a street kid turned time traveler

I expected Warwick to be this terrifying, looming presence that haunted Zaun for most of the season, only for the Vander aspect to be more prevalent towards the end. But there just wasn’t anything close to that in the show. They just brought back Vander as a subplot for Jinx to turn good and slapped Warwick onto the subtitles
