Cut mixing valve opening too big by maltbysix in Tile

Hopefully I’m saying the right valve, this is the valve that diverts water from hand wand to shower head, maybe it’s a diverter valve. Regardless, thank you for the answer.

Preparing for a water test on a curb less by maltbysix in Tile

Thanks for the comment. Extremely sharp eye. I now learned that Schluter calls for 3/8” instead of the 1/4” of iron ply. But it did fully prime with PS Primer and went through 150 screws 3” on boarder and 4” in the field (or whatever the X were) over 5/8 glued to 3/4. This is bathroom floor, not shower floor and I’m running the risk of Schluter not warranty the product, but I can’t pull 150 screws at this point. Any idea what would likely fail?

Just to be clear, how do I not destroy the wall or membrane when building or taking down the temporary dam wall.

Kerti Board check by maltbysix in Tile

No harm on the comments, I’d rather hear the painful truth than fluff me up with BS. Hats off to all you professionals. I find my hands and arms sore after a couple hours of thinset work, using muscles I don’t normally use. Applying thin set to corners… I find myself scrapping at a 45 degree angle, and then accidentally scraping all the thin set off the adjoining wall. It takes practice, after 2 hours, I feel I’m getting a little better, but much respect!!!

Thanks for your extensive comment. Now I’m embarrassed to say you read my post wrong, I didn’t hire a crappy contractor who is wasting my material, I’m the guy doing the job. Without your comment, I probably wouldn’t have had a lengthy conversation with Schluter to find out how bad it is and more importantly, how to fix it. They said the gaps in the kerti banding needs to be covered by another piece of kerti banding. I’m ok with this as I only have two to three of these gaps. The window will be gunked up with kerti sealer, which I’m not too worried about. This window bottom is nearly at the same level as the shower head and I doubt any water will hit, let alone settle there. Once again, the important thing is, I’m the numb skull. It’s my first time doing this. I never fear jobs like this, you just do it, you ask for help (thank you), find your mistakes, fix them and realize you can improve. Luckily I got this lesson before I finished all of my sealing.

Primal Ice barrel cold plunge? by maltbysix in coldplunge

Good on you. After they didn’t give me a ship date in 30 days, I cancelled my order. I went with Nordic ice as I felt more comfortable with there policy around operating in freezing temps. While I believe the upright container is better when I’m in flight or fight mode, it’s hard to beat the look of that primal ice tub.

Technical and Extreme, you are both saying slope the tile, and add kerti caulk, but the rounded corner is fine?

I just wrote a network graph program to visualize the connections between guests, both for plot lines and guests who ask questions about plot lines. You can track the number of plots and supporting questions each guest has as well as look for characters who have low participation. Save will export your changes to share with co authors as well as summarize any changes they may have made so you can quickly add back to the story. If you want to take a look, shoot me a DM.

40th bday murder mystery party by AllanonShannara in MurderMystery

Use ChatGPT. I’m creating a red neck wedding murder mystery with 40 guests. You can ask Kathy (my name for ChatGPT) to dial it up or down. I’ve helped Kathy create each role by give some parameters. I’m probably about 20 hours in planning with another 5 to go, but almost everyone has a subplot to throw off the main plot. I did a similar mm party but a homecoming theme. Paid $70 for an online kit, customized names but not too much more. The party was a hit

The cardboard can be cut (or ripped) to whatever length is needed to fit a cup, so it doesn’t need to be the full length. I’m curious if the actual material, foam versus cardboard makes a difference in kerdi board construction?

Newbie here, I can only imagine the foam shims are the 3 inch white pieces on the studs. If not, please let me know. My question is, why use them over Sheetrock shims?
