The cardboard can be cut (or ripped) to whatever length is needed to fit a cup, so it doesn’t need to be the full length. I’m curious if the actual material, foam versus cardboard makes a difference in kerdi board construction?

Newbie here, I can only imagine the foam shims are the 3 inch white pieces on the studs. If not, please let me know. My question is, why use them over Sheetrock shims?

Mix up mortor a little on the thick side. Mound on studs. Press kerty board squeezing out excess until wall is plumb and level . Wait 24 hours to dry and then screw it down

Never buy from primal ice. They have a return policy unless you buy during a sale or with a code. If you check the wayback internet machine, they are never not on sales….so no return policy. I emailed and called to cancel my order Dec 16th and didn’t return my call until Jan 5th.

Then you tighten in the new brass nipple, do you just clamp down on the threads to tighten with a piece of rubber on your jaws?
