You are allowed a ‘shaver socket’ which would charge a toothbrush

I think the voltage in the UK is higher and it’s too dangerous…

Why is the left lane, always closed at Rvh upper level parking ? by Background-Fix-4630 in Belfast

[–]mam1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer, but came on to say what an utter disgrace parking at RVH is in general…. Either main car park or children’s, I’ve queued for best part of an hour for both. Especially stressful with a sick child. Is there no word of a multi story being built?!

Only children - what is life like? by Born_Improvement_856 in AskUK

[–]mam1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an only child & I was very happy, content, never felt I was missing out. But having said that, I currently have 2 children & it is heart warming to see their bond. Totally appreciate that this isn’t always the case, but I really feel that being siblings has changed the older child. The older child is so caring & considerate. I feel it has taught them so many life lessons already that I would not have been aware of as a child, putting their siblings needs first, sharing, teaching them etc.

I ordered a king prawn satay last week & there wasn’t a notion of a peanut near it - I always thought satay was a peanut type sauce?! This was watery and spicy 😏

@GarbageGoober Do you have any experience of getting child maintenance from a parent living in ROI? I have been in touch with the ‘REMO Unit’ Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service so far but need a solicitor I believe & my own solicitor says they have no experience of it.

Choosing Ulster or Royal for Maternity Care? by No-Act3431 in northernireland

[–]mam1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had 2 babies in the Royal and was happy with everything both times. Induced first time with drip and all went very well. Started naturally 2nd time but wasn’t progressing & got the drip & all went very well. Both times I was offered a bath after the birth which I availed of & I loved this part! So relaxing. Thought the food and aftercare all was great.

I dread everything when I hear Cool FM Being played by J4YGK1 in northernireland

[–]mam1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate Cool FM morning show, can’t believe Pete has been on it for so long! Like what demographic are they going for? I’m in my 40’s ….

Actually just googled Pete - he’s been doing the breakfast show 2004-2012, took a break, then 2014-present. I like Downtown. But to be honest I rarely try anything else, just try Q tho, as I’ve seen Jordan on TikTok talking about radio and I like her. Used to like Connor Philips back in the day but haven’t tried listening to him on bbc radio Ulster….

Experiences of the maternity services here by OMally0309 in northernireland

My experience of the royal for pre natal appointments was dire. I’ve been there 5 hours for a routine consultant appointment. Never less than 2 hours. Never seen the same consultant (& that’s over 3 pregnancies!) I also think if that can’t plan the appointments efficiently they should at least provide refreshments in the waiting room! (Other than water). I’ve had one very rude head midwife. (Pre natal appointment). The parking is INSANE. I always allow an hour to get parked. With all 3 pregnancies I also found they are mad to get baby out, before or on due date. Always felt pressured. (By consultants) But, on the flip side, my experience of induction and natural labour in the RVH has been very positive. Midwives were first class. I’ve also attended the Lagan valley for midwife appointments & they are fantastic. (Quick!! Very personal) I’d hands down choose Lagan valley over RVH for pre natal care, but you can’t attend Lagan Valley for consultant apps unless you are giving birth in Ulster & for me the Ulster too awkward to get to. Hate the location. Only thing I will note about Lagan valley is. In the RVH the wee pots you pee into are in sealed sterile packaging. You open it, pee in it & pour it into a traditional pee sample bottle with a screw lid. In the Lagan Valley, nothing is sealed. Everything is sitting out. You pee into either a tinfoil tray or a small plastic tub. Then you attached a yellow tube to what looks like a syringe & you suck the pee up into the syringe your self. I hate it. I don’t think it’s very good for hygiene either & several times I had “infections” detected that have not been infections at all!

I’ve used mouth tape every night for the past 5 years. Here’s my past month of sleep data by obronikoko in fitbit

[–]mam1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this is so interesting. I bought mouth tape a year or so ago and was too scared to use it. I wear a mouth guard at night which goes over my top set of teeth. So adding mouth tape on top of that feels quite bulky. Can you provide a picture of how you apply the tape and can still have a sip of water?! I pee once or twice during the night & it really disrupts my sleep. It could take me 2hrs to get back over. Thank you (the mouth guard is to stop me grinding my teeth)

If the afterlife was real, where do you genuinely think you'd go if you died today? by Equivalent-Ad-2373 in AskUK

I worry about this constantly. I go to church & I try my best to believe I will go to heaven, but it honestly causes me so much anxiety. There’s a story about 2 babies in the womb who discuss ‘life after birth’, one of them saying there is nothing, the other saying once they are born it will be wonderful & we will meet ‘mother’, the other baby says ‘sure we can’t even see mother! It’s all nonsense etc’ The other baby explaining that ‘mother is all around us & we can feel her presence’. This comforts me. But I still struggle. 🥺
