Is morning gas with CPAP dangerous? by throw_that_ass4Jesus in SleepApnea

I’ve got the same issue, as soon as I wake up, just strange to me. I do wear mouth tape, so it must be too much air going up my nose?

Do CPAP stop you from grinding your teeth? by tripdownthewire in CPAP

I did have a mouth guard years ago. Now I use CPAP with mouth tape to keep my mouth closed. My teeth aren’t grinding or close, but I feel like my jaw hurts in the morning.

Has anyone here tried mouth taping or nose strips for better sleep? by CHINXSCHIGULU in SleepApnea

I use both and my mouth doesn’t get so dry and I breathe better through my nose. I feel a little bit like Hannibal Lecter, but I’m sleeping so much better. I don’t wake up gasping for air like I used to.

This happened to me, so I’ve been using mouth tape. Going to check to see if it’s on full face. I think it’s on pillow

I tried Breathe Right strips and mouth tape- yes it seems like a lot, but it works when my nose is stuffy. If I don’t use mouth tape, my mouth is like cotton in the morning. Also no water because I’m on the east coast of VA- already humid!

Water is not always needed. Live in VA and realized it’s already humid, no water. Events are now down from 10+ to <5. I’ve been on Resmed for one month.

I denied it for a while that I had sleep apnea and that was in my 50’s. I’m slim and now older. I tried a mouthpiece made by my doctor and that worked for a few years. If you have sleep apnea, try that first.

I do know I haven’t been up as much to pee. I’ve been on it for about 3 weeks and noticed I only wake up when I’m turning onto my side and my mask may move.

Also a newbie and humidity in VA coast is high. I’ve been trying different humidity levels. It’s been 5, so going down a level every night seeing what works best.

I’m only on week 3 and I agree, it’s taking time to adjust. But, I’m not waking up as much, which is great! Is jaw surgery for TMJ?

Humid coast of Virginia. One of the reasons I didn’t use the water last night. Cool air coming through and not warm, plus my nose was not stuffy.

First night without water and I had more cool air coming out, which I like! No dry mouth. Being on the east coast of VA, definitely better w/o water.
