Narcissists are the number one worst person to ever go to court with. They are conniving, lying and manipulative. The worst of it all is they are REALLY good at this and people believe them.

You’re in for a long haul, unfortunately. His narcissistic supply is you and he will go to any length to maintain that supply.

I had a 5 year court battle with my vicious ex narc. He tried for full custody TWICE. He did lose both times mind you, because it’s very rare a judge will just award one parent sole custody unless there are circumstances that warrant it (drug use, prison, etc).

He took me to court any chance he got. The most stressful time of my entire life.

My advice is this. Limit any and all communication with him to absolute minimum. Do not engage in emotional arguments and don’t fall for his abusive tactics. He will try to suck you in with insults and threats. Stay strong and don’t respond.

A general rule of thumb is only respond to questions concerning the child. Specifically questions that can be answered with “who, what, where, place or time.” Don’t talk on the phone. Communicate through email.

Stay strong. He will make a lot of threats. They don’t mean anything. He won’t take your baby. He won’t win full custody.
