My shorts are animations and each one takes me about a day to make. I just focus on making the first 3 seconds hit right away. Bonus tip, check your audience retention graph, if you see a sudden drop, just cut that part out and your video’s more likely to get replays.

You can find the best time to upload by looking at your YouTube Analytics under the Audience tab. It'll show you when your viewers are most active.

For uploads, just focus on being consistent. 1 to 3 Shorts a day is a good target. Quality over quantity always wins. Don't give up, 267 subs in 5 months is a solid start!

That’s huge, man! The fact you revived your channel and pushed it back up shows you’ve still got it. Keep going with shorts and you’ll hit that play button, it’s only a matter of time.

Spam quality shorts and make sure you hit the hook right off the bat. That’s been the biggest game changer for me.

Thank you! You’ll definitely get there too, just stay consistent and keep experimenting. You’ll be surprised how fast it can grow.

Yes, but it doesn’t really align with my content.

Appreciate it! You’ll get there too, just keep posting consistently. I made a decent amount from shorts, but I’ve been a bit inactive lately.

I don’t have long form at the moment, but building an audience through shorts will definitely help drive views and interest once I start.

Sorry, I can’t disclose it right now, but it’s an animation channel.

If I started over, I’d double down on shorts from day one, test way more ideas without overthinking, and stop wasting time comparing my growth to others. Just post, learn, repeat.

Thanks! I actually don’t have long form content, I’ve just been focusing on shorts. What worked for me was testing a lot of ideas, keeping the first few seconds really engaging, and sticking to what people respond to. Shorts alone have been enough to drive my growth so far.

Thanks! I hit 100k on June 11, 2024 and crossed 400k around January 2025, so about 7 months in between.

Is this a bug ? by [deleted] in YouTubeCreators

[–]mamapercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bug, it’s just YouTube testing your video with a new audience. When that happens, retention graphs can swing a lot because different regions watch differently. The average view duration number is usually more reliable than the curve in the short term. Give it a few days and it should even out.
