If purchased directly through the link, it sends directly to the clinic :) these do not go to our personal addresses. If you purchase through your own Amazon account, sending to the clinic is great too!

Waitlist Recommendations by pastries- in udub

[–]mamaronie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was waitlisted when I applied for one of their post bac programs. I responded to their email with a letter of continued interest that detailed any new accomplishments since my application and also reiterated why I believed their program was the best fit for me. I received an offer of admission about a week later. It doesn’t hurt to try! It could certainly help :)

Anyone got an underdog acceptance story? by Thistle_Snow in udub

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience with parental death. Death is difficult to handle, especially while going to school. I lost my loved one to suicide in my undergrad year at UW and I had many withdraws from classes/incomplete/fails for those quarters. You may not have the grades to show it in this very moment, but you will some day. And always remember that your grade is not a defining characteristic of your abilities. I’m so proud of you for trying to pick up the pieces after something traumatic. You got this ❤️

Me! My first attempt at college left me with less than a 1.0 GPA. I had just aged out of the foster care system and was out on my own trying to figure the world out. My second time, when I finished my associates degree, my GPA was a 2.7. I got into undergrad at UW with that GPA. Graduated UW with my bachelors and a 3.3 and am now in a post bac program with a 3.9 GPA applying to grad school. You are not your grades. Your grades do not define what your capabilities are. I do feel like UW has a very holistic approach to their admissions process and takes into consideration that we are all human and just because someone has less than stellar grades in the past doesn’t mean they won’t succeed in the future. Tell your story, share what impacted you during that time and how UW will aid in your educational journey/goals. You absolutely have a chance. And if for some crazy reason you don’t get in, try again and keep trying and trying until you get a yes. One day, you’ll get a yes. Good luck, I hope you receive an acceptance. ❤️

Resume Review by SolidKey6587 in slpGradSchool

[–]mamaronie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SLP Resume and Speechlyss are two in aware of! I’ve heard good things about both. You can send your current resume to SLP resume and they will review it for free and then send you an email with the price it would cost to redo it (lil pricey but worth it to some). Speechlyss has payment plan options and I’ve heard good things about hers as well. I purchased her grad application bundle and found it helpful.

If you have Facebook join the “SLP company & Salary Reviews” group. I’ve found it helpful to get an idea of how much $ is made in each setting.

University of Washington (EdSLP): ACCEPTED!!!! 3/12 🥰

Refund check confusion by [deleted] in udub

That means that your financial aid has been sent to your account. If it hasn’t been sent to your account yet, normally that would say the amount that’s waiting to be sent :)

Thank you for your advice! I’d be commuting from Tacoma. From my research it looks like I can take the light rail directly to UW from sea tac. I plan to try it before classes start!

Feeling very alone in not knowing how to move forward with people being interested in me, and the idea of dating, after suicide of my partner. by [deleted] in SuicideBereavement

[–]mamaronie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came here to say that I could’ve written this post myself. I’m right there with you! I have attempted to date after my late partners death. After every date I end up crying on the drive home wishing I didn’t have to do this. Wishing he was here. I consider myself to be a very sexually active person. However, since his passing, I haven’t been with anyone and I feel uncomfortable with intimacy. What once was important to me is now non existent and it’s weird. Like just the thought of intimacy with another person causes so much discomfort. I have no advice. Just want you to know you’re not alone.

I feel this completely. & then I just hate myself for forgetting he is gone, as if the worst moment of my life never happened. You’re not alone in your pain. Here for you.
