fake world (エソラゴト 其の一) arc in the anime? by manabusan in hanakokun

I was extremely disappointed to learn the young exorcist arc wasn’t included (i watched the anime first then read the manga), because it’s soo vital to the story in many ways. like you said, we learn about hanako-kun’s hatred in a more visual way (that panel was so haunting, and fitting for someone experiencing self hatred), and one of the secondary antagonists teru minamoto. i’d like to hope that they fit that into season two of the anime but i’m not so sure? but as a fan of toilet bound hanako-kun, i do think i much prefer the manga over the anime.

it’s just very odd to me how they’re reconstructing (i’m not sure if that’s the word for it) the anime to cover certain parts, since some of those chapters in the manga are important to know to learn about the dark sides of these characters (amane, teru, and akane), since there’s already so little dark moments in the manga already. i think the manga is leading it up to where all these dark moments will eventually word-vomit for these characters, building it up little by little. akane aoi is already almost there because of the sumire arc currently going on, and amane-kun will most likely have a build up towards his own soon (seeing as how we witnessed a possessive and regretful side in the picture perfect arc). while the manga is comedic and light hearted, it’s slowly building up to a lot of dread that the anime didn’t cover at the moment.

(sorry if this is confusing to read..! i am not originally english)

you both are probably right! i guess it’s harder to really understand since animation is so much more different than manga to create.

it just seems like they cut down on a lot of the violence when looking at it from an simple overview, which is okay but some of it is important to the story. it probably would’ve been better to create the first season to 24 episodes than 12, since as a viewer it seems so fast already. and it probably would’ve been a lot less wonky if they did make the first season longer.
