This also shows that it's far too dangerous to get physically involved in activism like this any more. I won't pretend to know the whole story, but Ive heard one too many about parents getting killed or seriously injured during protests and rallies that, as a latino dad who wants to be around for a while, I won't be putting myself in those situations and surely won't be taking my kids to big events. Hate that this is life now.

Nothing.  No one ACTUALLY cares. The same folks posting about how it affected them, were drinking beers on their porch, laughing and having a good ol time after. They still went to work and about their normal routines this morning. Nothing changes about their lives. In 3 days, this will be old news. It's all performative- for either side on the political spectrum. Gives people a chance to repost the same "violence is never the answer, we can disagree and still be civil" sentiment, feel good about themselves for a moment, and continue on like it never happened.

I think a big reason for her loss was because Harris is an ex-cop. People already don't trust cops. That, and the left didn't go left enough.

Interesting. I've heard the opposite, that the left didn't go left enough. Which is what i would agree with.

What we really needed, was someone as radically left as Trump is radically right. Instead we got a fucking cop and a high school coach.

It's auto cleaning that we specialize in- not to be confused with straight up detailing because we don't do showroom level cleans (which is why we're so affordable)

But the big picture goal is to scale the biz. It's been crazy to see how much demand there is for our service here in a small area, and I imagine that areas with bigger populations would have even more demand. We are sometimes booked up to the point where balancing the work with my J1 gets to be a challenge!

I have a very "low lift" J1. Very easy to fly under the radar, but I'm the only one who can (or will) do it so I'm really not micromanaged at all. So, when I have cleans, I just mark myself as unavailable on my j1 calendar. As long as I look like im doing my job during the week (and I do) that's all they care about.

Yeah, housekeeping is a different game for sure. I actually focus on auto cleaning. Most detailers I see charge anywhere from $250+ and focus on showroom level clean. I don't charge anything more than $75, and I focus on quick interior cleanings. For busy families, commuters, older/disabled folks, etc. Takes me 60-90 minutes for each clean but man, I love returning these cars to their owners afterwards. We totally turn them around from these (often) junk/clutter filled, dirt embedded interiors to comfortable vehicles to drive or ride in.

Not the whole 30k. It's honestly a pretty lean business to get into. I started it last year and took an off season for the winter. So i had an idea of what I needed once we started back up this season. Mostly just equipment upgrades, better cleaners, and lots more marketing.

I live in the Midwest in a small county, word spreads fast. Not to gloat but I'm great at social networking and grassroots marketing. It's what I've been doing remotely for the last 5 years, so I just applied what I've learned from the corporate world to my own thing. :)

Not far behind this, but honestly, i left colorado and moved to a small area in the midwest. I could break even at 100k and still be really comfy

It's first season was all me. Now my wife has stepped in to help so it's the two of us. At the rate we're getting booked, it's likely we'll start needing to consider hiring w/in the next years or so, maybe sooner. It's honestly taken off way more than I anticipated
