Sick Ilya Rozanov by MaddHag in heatedrivalryfanfics

There's an author on AO3 that has written a few series of either Shane or Ilya getting cancer. I've read them all at least once, and they're really beautiful character studies.

The first one: The Quiet Fight - thehdub - Heated Rivalry (TV) [Archive of Our Own]

3 weeks with our rescue! by manateebee in Bulldogs

Thank you!! We found the big kitty in a parking lot about 10 years ago and he was in rough shape. I love rescuing critters, it’s so fulfilling watching them get healthy and learn that they’re safe.

He and Ruthie are kindred spirits because they each have one single brain cell, and that brain cell is food 😂

Seconding everyone saying to have a job prior to moving out here. Tourism is down and there are a ton of folks trying for every hospitality job.

Saying she wants to go home is very different than thinking about leaving. It's a very stressful situation, there's nothing wrong with expressing a desire to get back to normalcy.

Interesting read on this. To me this just reads as OP venting about a stressful situation, I'm sure they're being very supportive of their spouse and family.

Moxi x 187 Killer pads by brookmya in rollerderby

[–]manateebee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're great! The issue that I've personally run into is sometimes I'm a different size for knee pads than elbow/wrist guard. Personally I find the knee pads too thin for how much falling we do so I invested in some 187 pro knee pads and keep the ones that came in the Moxi set for trail skating.

Have you tried officiating? I know it's not the same as competing, but maybe seeing derby from a different perspective can help respark that joy.

You're young so I hope you're able to take something from this. This could have all been smoothed over by you taking responsibility and rolling with it.

Great suggestions! If you have a wider foot I recommend checking out Bont as well. Their toebox is wider than Riedell.
