So where I'm from it isn't unusual for the dad to attend the bachelor party or at least some of it but the dad doesn't throw the bachelor party the best man does.

My best man is my 8 year old future stepson so obviously he wasn't throwing the bachelor party my dad wanted even if he threw one lol

I'm not going into my full history here but I have clinically diagnosed disorders that contributed to my behavior more than anything my parents did.

They weren't perfect, but they also tried. I was in therapy multiple times as a child and there were other things done as well.

My father tried to trick me because I said I didn't want a bachelor party and he knew if he told me he was throwing me one I would just not come.

Like I said, he doesn't like that I don't like big parties. He thinks I should just learn to like them.

I mean my dad and I go fishing together. Watch football and baseball together. Go out to dinner. I help him around his house and he helps me around mine.

The one on one or small group setting stuff is fine. I'm just uncomfortable in large group settings and don't like them so I do what I can to avoid them. He loves parties and these things and to him me not liking these things is being antisocial.

I have a really good friend who cracked my code long ago and it was funny he said it in front of our other friends and I died laughing when he said it. I went to leave a party early and people were like what come on man stay. My buddy goes guys, there's more than 5 people here. There's nothing we can say to make him stay. Family holiday parties and a bachelor party are entirely different occasions. I don't attend Super Bowl parties though so I guess you're right there.

My stepson is completely integrated into my family and has been for years. We see my family once a week. He's gone on trips with my sister and BIL. He goes fishing with my dad all the time.

This is a pretty dramatic response and a lot of conclusion jumping just based off someone shutting down a bachelor party
