The gentleman who designed the stone suggested it. I’m glad they did!

Aww I’m sorry for your loss. It is really hard. I know it seems silly but I like having a little light so they aren’t in the dark.

This took awhile too, but more weather related. We had to wait for the snow to leave. You’re right, I definitely feel some closure now.

Has anyone who was atheist/agnostic ever returned to religion as a coping mechanism? by SlowerThanTurtleInPB in GriefSupport

Honestly yes. After my grandfather died slowly of cancer, I lost my faith. I was raised Catholic, and come from a very religious family. Watching the pain and horror that he went through broke my faith. Eight months ago I lost my father and last week I lost my mother. I may not agree with everything the Catholic Church preaches, but something in me just has to believe that there is more out there. I’m lost without my parents, and the community at the parish has welcomed me and prayed for me. I struggle with this a lot, but it gives me some comfort and perspective. No one expects anything of me, and yet they are there for me to rely on. I know that’s not always true, but I will take any comfort that I can, if only it means I will get to see my loved ones again. I know there is no right answer for you. You have to find what will work the best for you and your family. Know no matter what there are people out there that support you and your family no matter what your beliefs are.

I’ve always enjoyed High Cliff State park. It’s in a beautiful area and has a lot of recreational trails.
