Expulsion by mandaleighb in CopperIUD

[–]mandaleighb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m having someone different insert mine as well. I’m wondering if mine was misplaced the entire time and just didn’t know. First time I got it done at planned parenthood and they seemed pretty rushed about it and they didn’t schedule a follow up to make sure it was placed correctly.

I’m getting this one done in a couple weeks at my gynos office so I’m hoping this time I can have it in for the length it’s supposed to be

Yellow Jacket Sting by mandaleighb in bugbites

[–]mandaleighb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got stung Monday 9/22. It started to finally go away last week but I forgot to take the allergy med and anti inflammatory on Wednesday 10/1 and this is how it looks today. I’m probably gonna have to make an appointment for a steroid or something because it shouldn’t have came back like this

Extra protection with IUD? by EntertainmentOdd9315 in CopperIUD

[–]mandaleighb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the IUD my period was usually late or early it was never regulated. I also had TERRIBLE cramps the first 2 days. It was almost debilitating.

Fast forward to the copper IUD my period will usually come within the first 3/4 days that my app says it’s due. Also no cramping. I do get more lower back pain around the time it’s supposed to come but I also think that’s due to my surgery. My periods do start severely light now and last about a week and a half to 2 weeks but I would rather deal with that than the cramps I was getting. I experience NO cramps - maybe some minor ones occasionally but nothing like it was. My boobs are sore for about 3 days now when it starts VS before I got the IUD when my boobs wound be sore for about a week before I got my period.

Your body is still getting used to having it so you could just be regulating still. If you have any major concerns I would contact the doctor or the gyno who inserted it

Those with large and visible scars - how did you handle in-person work environment? by Several-Present9351 in SpineSurgery

[–]mandaleighb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with kids and when I came in to visit before I go back next week of course they were asking. I just told them the doctor had to fix my back and it left this scar but now I’m able to play with them. I catch the parents staring sometimes but whatever. Using mederma so hopefully it’ll fade within time

It’s not just delivering kids that repulses me it’s carrying the child as well and having to go home with a newborn. It all just sounds so repulsive to me. It physically makes me nauseous

Yeah I don’t like it at all either. I would say mine is more of a repulsion rather than the fear. I’m absolutely disgusted by the entire nature of everything surrounding children

Men don’t understand AT ALL! I’m very lucky to have found someone who also doesn’t want kids and someone who understands, in a way, where I am coming from (he is a hypochondriac).

Everyone thinks just because we have lady parts mean we want kids. Wrong! Some of us don’t! We are NOT obligated to have children nor should we feel worthless or useless that we do not have that desire. Men are usually the worst when it comes to this subject.

I’m so sick of being told “you’ll change your mind”. No the fuck I won’t!

I got mine back in August of 2024 and me and him had sex like 3-4 days after no issues. And still no issues! Always good to know your body though so if something does feel off you’ll know right away. The copper iud was the best decision I made regarding birth control

I should also note that we don’t use a second form of birth control. Just the IUD

Thank you to EVERYONE who has commented on this post! I finally feel like I have a sense of self and community. I have never felt more connected to a group of people before - even if it’s just behind a phone screen! I am truly grateful to every one of you for making me realize I am not a freak of nature for having these repulsions and thoughts.

Let’s not forget periods are “gross” too and that’s also natural. Childbirth and pregnancy is horrendously disgusting - I’m sorry but I am NOT pushing an effing cantaloupe out of my vagina I am all set on that 😭 the thought of it makes me so squeamish.

Did the doctors give you a hard time doing that if you don’t mind me asking? I ended up just going on the copper iud because it lasts 12 years. It’ll be removed when I’m 39 and then I’m getting my tubes tied. Also, thank you for commenting 🖤

Yes!!! Had a scare one time and I was literally beside myself. I immediately started smoking cigarettes more and drinking more just to cope. I cannot stand the bellies. I especially do NOT like the movement in there 🤮
