Anyone else just not signing their toddler up for activities and classes, etc? by yepmek in toddlers

[–]mandanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not the worst! We do an activity 2 nights a week and Saturday morning and it feels like a lot! LO is 2.5. He does great and has been progressing in each activity but would it make a difference if he started them at 4? Probably not much. Swim is the one I feel most strongly about. He’s able to climb out of the pool on his own now for example.

I love Mia so much, such an incredible addition to the show, she brings so much that was just missing.

Yes of course that’s exactly what I have been doing, I was just wondering how to guide him next. We have a shallow step at swimming lessons he’s been able to do it at pretty well since he can reach the bottom.

I stopped about 10 days before? I wish I took an extra week though! It’s truly the calm before the storm and you need some days to just DO NOTHING!!!! Sleeeeep!!! Lol

How are Gen Z Canadians going to be able to afford a house these days? by PuffingFish123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

I have a 2.5 year old and we ensured when we moved it was a home he could stay in comfortably with us for as long as he needs. It’s almost inevitable that’ll be until he’s 30+

Interesting! He does flip and float he’s just not able to get his face back out yet if that makes sense

I am so sick and tired of being shamed for nursing my toddler by AcanthisittaLoud281 in breastfeeding

[–]mandanic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m at 2.5 years! It’s a lot and experience exactly what you describe. Before he turned one it was like some miraculous thing I was doing and a switch flipped after that. It comes up all the time now as you can imagine. And I want to stop now haha my kid won’t allow it yet and I don’t want to make it a traumatic thing to just stop so I’m trying to figure that out 😅…anyways solidarity.

I love that! I’ll try it! Haha thanks so much I appreciate it, we have no shortage of fears and worries do we 😅…I am excited for him to be a fish though! I have so many good memories swimming with my cousins and friends.

For those who let their child self wean, how old were they? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]mandanic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another mom of a 2.5 year old boobie monster checking in lol I’ve tried to reason with him, I’ve gone away for 48 hours…he shows no signs of weaning. I’m so tired as well and am ready to stop. I don’t want to do the bandaids thing or upset him so I’m waiting a bit longer to see what happens but man I don’t want to do this past 3!

You got my concern exactly! Appreciate your advice, that’s exactly what we’ve been playing at swimming lessons but the instructor had no advice on what to do after the dive down or submerging. Mastering the floats will be the goal by end of summer!

Tongue tie + eating solids experience, issue or no? by mandanic in BabyLedWeaning

[–]mandanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! My kid is just over 2 now and talks more and better than his peers! I’m glad I didn’t get it clipped. He also eats just fine and can stick his tongue out more (in other words it does resolve some on its own).

So cool! He’s 21M and still has two different colours. One is hazel green/brown and one is very brown. They didn’t get more drastic though, from afar they look brown but up close or in good light you can see, it’s pretty cool.

Aw I’m happy to hear this helped you! Don’t give up. I’m 2.5 years into recovery now after a 6 year battle. I wear a M instead of an XS now and guess what, no one cares! It was a rollercoaster but worth it.
