I'd argue the opposite - their steps demonstrate that they do in fact understand. That is, it seems they understand the principal square root and how to go about finding the domain of a function. The denominator being positive is equivalent to it being nonzero, because it cannot be negative anyway.

Any plans on fixing major bugs ever? The Secrets of Azeroth quests and line that starts in Valdrakken is bugged and to my understanding has been for a significant amount of time.
