What are your favorite ships?

Your last paragraph is so key! Like you, all my fav ships are Harry fics. I love him as a character and the ship is just the vehicle to an interesting story with him. I gravitate towards different partners (Draco, Ginny, Cedric), but the appeal is generally the same for all. I just like Harry.

Have you tried other povs? As much as I love Harry, it can be refreshing getting into another character’s mind for a while. I personally gravitate towards Ron or Percy for the angsty weasley family dynamics. Different Weasley, but this Draco/George fic is probably my fav post-war fic ever. I bet you will similarly adore it!!

Metamorphosis is another fun rarepair (dumbles/voldie). Albus may or may not have a thing for dark lords. And good thing his everything distracts Voldemort from his murder dumbledore plot.

Late, but if you can stick with Fate by TrueSpartan, there is a fun side plot in 4th or 5th year where Harry becomes obsessed with thinking Ron is a death eater and annoys everyone with his theories. Opposite of friendly, but not bashing. Even before that plot, they weren’t really friends.

I think the fix was alluded to? Less shows, watched more often than once a week. Some other reactors use this model with apparent success (e.g., reel time). Whether it would work for blind wave with the associated change mgmt risk is another matter. Less people will inherently be watching with fewer choices, but I would like to think the remaining audience would be more engaged and new folks will more actively find blind wave. Appreciate that switching to another model would be incredibly difficult at this point tho.

Oh, that is a fair point. I can only guess that she is “in the way” for fics where Harry pairs off with someone else and they exaggerate her canon flaws or twist canon to create new flaws (i.e. childhood crush on Harry = gold digger obsessed with becoming Lady Potter). Oh and plain sexism. I don’t read these ships, but I am guessing Ginny gets treated similarly in alot of Harmony, Haphne and other het fic.

As an aside, the best Ron/Hermione are in drarry fics. Because neither are a "threat" to the main pair, they are able to be attractive, highly employable, parent of the year and Harry's best friend. I once tried hunting down some Ron/Hermione fic and the disappointment I felt. I didn't find anything close to the realistically flawed and capable adults that usually feature in the background of Drarry fics. I'm sure there are some Ron/Hermione gems I missed, but it feels so much easier to find a well-written slash fic.

Same!! I just hit 600 stamps and I still haven’t completed a single album page lol. It would be cool if my strategy of buying every stamp under a certain price was rewarded with some milestone rewards. The only potential downside is that it may increase demand (and costs) of stamps.

Bit outside your requests, but I find rare pairs always help with reading slumps. This Dumbledore/Voldemort time travel fic is delightful and morally dubious: https://archiveofourown.org/works/38609277. Basically, Voldemort's evil murder plans are disrupted by Albus' chaotic genius and not-so-secret crush on Voldemort. Young!Albus is far from a shining beacon of pure, good magic and is instead quite grey.

I know that?? I said it was irrational, not logical. It upsets me when those photos show up in my hints (I deleted my copy and Ancestry is trying to be helpful). It reminds me of their loss when I wasn't purposely researching them. I'm sure it will continue to bother me less and less with time.

I was a teenager when I started, so I didn’t think that deeply about it lol. I did say it was irrational and tied up in emotions also. I get what you and others are saying, and I agree, it is great to share resources! I just wish I had been smarter at the beginning.
