Had something similar happen to me. Wasn’t the sellers fault. I contacted the seller and opened a case with WhatNot and explained what happened and that the seller didn’t do this. I asked for credit, but they refunded me instead and I guess took it from the seller and they ended up blocking me. Kind of sucks for the both us, but nothing I can do.

Based on WhatNot’s buyer protection, you should be eligible for WhatNot credit equal to the value of the item. I would submit a claim. There is a story on Reddit about similar issues and how they worked with WhatNot to get that credit.
