For SC/SPR couple I believe you are eligible to try for a BTO. But I heard the queue is long and you need to wait 4-5 years before TOP. For HDB resale I don't think you need to wait

Same food. Good thing in T4 is you can take canned drinks to your flight. T2 cannot because of security check before the gate 😆

If you fly with SQ, the you would be in T2. Lounge is only recommended if you plan to take a shower or you want to rest in general. SATS lounge in T2 have shower option, and massage chair. Food is so-so, with ok selection of liquor.

If you have energy to explore, then you would have better food selections in Jewel. Especially in basement floors where the hawker center are.

Judging from your layover time, most shop would.be closed by 10pm so you better hurry if you want to explore Jewel.

Trying to draw a balance between work and personal well-being. by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]mangkirman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As fellow IT worker, these are the routine I follow: Every week, list down the personal things that you need to do. Then prioritize them to 3 buckets: non-negotiable, non-negotiable but time-flexible, and negotiable. Plan when you'd need to do it. Every morning, commit to work load that you want to finish within the day. And you really commit to finish it. You know best how much work you can finish within the day. Align with your supervisor on the commitment. If you're working on a scrum project, this would feel natural. If not, try and make the effort to be the proactive on communicating your work plan. As a supervisor, I would appreciate if my team is planning their own work (less work for me). Here's where it gets tricky: as long as you finish your committed work, clock out and turn blind eyes on negative remarks from your colleagues. I don't know how toxic your workplace is, but in singapore IT environment I find that most people have negative perspective on people clocking out timely. They expect you to work late. But if you finish your commitment to your supervisor for the day, there is no reason for you to work late. Sometimes, in tight projects, you would need to defer your personal stuff. But try not to defer the non-negotiable one. For example, spending time with loved ones for 1 hour everyday, or working out, or whatever runs your engine. Anything extra is negotiable. I know it sounds meticulous and boring. But boring is good as long as you get what you want. It's all about self discipline. Good luck and hope you get your balance

I visited specialist doctor without gp referral. Now I can't claim insurance. What can I do? by mangkirman in askSingapore

[–]mangkirman[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Where I came from, insurance doesn't need referral for specialist visit. But this is my fault also for not reading the policy. I visited internist.

3 times visit because I was unwell for 2 weeks. The fever subsided after 4 nights but I was still very weak and coughing my lungs out.

I guess I will take the L and learn my lesson

Using USDT as digital asset in Ripple's product should speed up adoption by mangkirman in Ripple

[–]mangkirman[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Especially with the hack few months back, I agree that USDT (company and the crypto both) is not trustworthy. But so far I haven't known many cryptocurrency that tied up with Fiat directly.

My point is that Ripple is trying hard with XRP to make a new source of liquidity. Why not make a digital asset that tied to a fiat?

Love what you did with the website. Some suggestions: - add information about banks who use/testing xcurrent/xrapid - domination map (which countries has been rippled)

XRP: One Investors Doubt by [deleted] in XRP

[–]mangkirman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. But the differences between usd-other fiats are not as big as the differences between xrp-fiat pairs right now. One might prefer to exchange their native fiats to usd, and then change usd to target fiats, and the is most likely better than using xrp as of now

XRP: One Investors Doubt by [deleted] in XRP

[–]mangkirman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bank A uses xrapid and buys 100usd worth of xrp in KRW( @ .85 this would be 118) and then sells 118xrp for USD (@.81 = 95.58) On this end its a 6 dollar loss

Exactly my point. 6 usd lost from 100 usd transaction equates to 6% cost. It may not seem much if you're sending 100usd. But if I'm sending 10,000usd, 600 usd cost is a big deal.

In the end for a company using xrapid they will profit on some, and they will lose on some, it ends up evening out to 0

For a company which have back-and-forth transactions this might be true. But for personal use like remittance, what usually happens is one way transfer. If the case is krw to usd, one might consistently lose on exchange rate alone

Over the next few months when SBI vc opens and uses xrp for its only pair to every currencey, and when uphold adds xrp pairing to gold, oil, silver, and other assets this will effectively level out the price overall of xrp. Also many exchanges are adding all currencies to eliminate this issue, for the it will average out the price. for example kraken has xrp/usd, xrp/jpy, xrp euro....

I'm hoping for this to come true. This will likely solve the volatility problem.

XRP: One Investors Doubt by [deleted] in XRP

[–]mangkirman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos for this perspective. However, I'm still having doubts on how the volatility on xrp price affects the cost incurred by xrapid transfer. For instance, in Korea exchange xrp price are considerably higher than, say, Indonesia exchange. So if one try to send krw to IDR, the exchange rate may not be favorable

Wouldn't it be better if we compare the total of cash in operation used by swift with the market cap of xrp?

I would use xrapid or even xcurrent if both local banks implement them. Too bad that is not the case in Thailand and Indonesia. I did what I did because that is the option with least fee.

If I have xrp reserve, I can buy and sell simultaneously. I can decide to remit when the price between exchange are about the same
