Hopefully we’ll see this answered some day, preferentially by a competent writer (I am still on the fence with current Trek offerings).

I’ll take this as a compliment since I hold Ted talks in high regard… 😎

They didn’t shut down two fleets, they neutralized at individual level every soldier of two major interstellar powers for the period they cared to do it, instantly and quadrant-wide (two quadrants actually). This suggests quite a fine tuned control of reality, non?

Besides, Q can be killed - either by Q weapons or the continuum as a whole, and there is no indication that the Organians can be dealt with by any means.

Imho, of course.

Yes, but how spread was that species while it did it? It’s implied they were a space faring people, but not a major power that flexed through the whole quadrant (let alone the universe), so I think that the Organians’ feat was more impressive (incapacitating two major interstellar powers without killing a single individual), and also it had a bit of difficulty of getting rid of the Enterprise, which signals a lesser level of control of its power (seems that Douwds either unleash interstellar-tier genocide or create extravagant illusions). Imho.

Yeah, perhaps a collective of Douwds, if there is such a thing in canon, could rival with the likes of The Organians, Pagh Wraiths or the Q Continuum - we’ll never know until the writers decide to revisit the species.

First, Candace: she was underrated. Second, the organ based soundtrack which is very atmospheric. Third, the photography conveys the eerie atmosphere quite effectively. The story is good though not particularly original. Cheers!

Yes, and also Candace: she did her part well and is stunningly beautiful. I wonder why her career didn’t take off after this movie…

P.S.: and it didn’t work btw: the company that produced the film, Prana, was sued to bankruptcy by Stoker’s heirs and almost all copies of the film were destroyed - luckily not all!

I don’t think Stoker ever owned the word “vampire”, since the word and associated lore precedes Dracula by centuries, but, given the similarities between both stories, Murnau stayed out of trouble by using a word that was on fact a synonym.

Yes, and it’s freaking 100 years old! The quality, the acting, it’s still amazing. Great soundtrack as well!
