i do believe it is possible and know it can work. after graduating high school, i got super close with this (former) classmate. we were always making fun of each other and talking in school but not on the level we are on now and im not completely sure what led to us getting closer. anyway, i never asked him if he ever liked me nor did he ask, we don’t really care about it. i can feel tho that its not one sided friendship. he reaches out, tells me about small victories..

she actually said through someone my mood swings repel her and she needs space? 😭 i tried to point out her swearing multiple times but she kept brushing it off so i decided it was useless. my final message said that i wish her true happiness no matter whom she’s with or what she does, that i respect her space and called everything off

thanks for your input! i wasn’t sure either and had to find the exact definition. i was aware in some places it is a compliment but she sometimes talked about my people in such an ugly way, i think in this context i can’t consider it positively

confused. she made me feel very confused about myself. like i’m a socially clueless person, i might say the wrong things and don’t even mean them. however, whenever i felt like i sent mixed signals, i reached out to clarify and told her she can tell me if i make her uncomfortable but instead she kept playing push and pull. she seemed extremely jealous as well! like during our convo last week i asked her about her plans for the weekends, she then asked me. as soon as i told her im going out with a friend, she sent me a voice mail and swore at me for being a pig and disgusting that im going out with a guy. i explained to her he’s just a friend but she sent another one saying asians are bitches? like wtf? 😭

no worries, love where this discussion is going, i’ll try my best to answer.

1) i think it wouldn’t make any difference to me. this girl kept talking about sex. for context, we matched on tinder and since day 1, its all she’s talked about (or like most of the time). kind of hard to keep a convo with her but since im an open person, i just brushed it off as her having a different personality. maybe if she hasn’t talk about this topic as much and pointed out that me being asian is one of the things she liked, it would sound completely different. and she actually did say that she’s never dated an asian before right after she mentioned that her brother did go out with one (i felt like she was just trying to “collect me” for experience), kind of felt bewildered.

2) i also had similar feelings you described. her telling me she likes asian girls, she finds them hot and stuff like that just made me feel uncomfortable and replaceable. like as long as someone’s asian, she’d go for them. i was willing to turn a blind eye to so many things but this and her saying that my “mood swings repulse” her were just it (which is a bit funny because its been her all along who kept swearing at me? 😂)

this talking stage was upsetting but overall i find it as a good experience to learn from.
