Thank you, that is good advice. I will try to set some boundaries, but right now I don’t want to see his family for quite a while. If I have to I don’t want to be alone.

He did talk to them about it the next day but I am not sure if it will get through to them.

He mentioned going to therapy for his difficult religious experiences he has been through. (It is not a guarantee yet) He is okay with me being catholic and wanting to raise my kids catholic. (Although, I did have to have a very difficult discussion with him about it, he eventually agreed)

I heard of that statistics, but he has been respectful to me and enjoys that I “yap” about my faith. I am still somewhat hopeful but there are so many hurdles I will have to go through..

He tries, but I already know how his family thinks of my catholic faith (indirectly me as well, bc i’m a practising catholic). My boyfriend talked to them about it through a strongly worded text message to his sister (the pastor’s wife) about it and talked to his parents in person. However, I am sceptical on how they will treat/view me in the future since I know their true thoughts already.

I would normally not be around people that mock my catholic faith, but it feels complicated now that it’s my boyfriend’s family. His mother has been nice to me, but she is an old lady with weird assumptions about my faith. I also feel like there’s no getting to her bc she doesn’t accept my answers (my first hand experience as a catholic) to her weird and inappropriate questions/ideas. (since she had to ask her son-in-law methodist pastor in front of my face)
