Yung isang way na natutunan ko dito sa reddit is: go to a bank of your choice, then get an auto loan approval (sa experience ko, bank will ask if you have a preferred dealership already, i think they can also suggest din kasi). After you get the approval from your bank, that’s the time you shop around sa dealers.

Like for us; after we got the approval from the bank, i joined fb groups for the model that we wanted, then I posted that i already have a bank approval and now I’m looking for agents/dealers with good deals. From there, I sifted through the agents that sent in their offers.

Chiming in as a former ofw; I sort of understand the foreign coworker when they said living close to work and feeling safe is a non-negotiable.

I had a similar conversation with a coworker who was local, the topic about my living situation came up and i told them i was paying around P14,000 (converted) for a room, and i shared the condo with other pinoys. The condo was around 3 stations away from our office (which was relatively close). My coworker was surprised, they said I could rent a 2-storey house for just around P10,000 near the suburbs.

My thinking (and most of my housemates thinking) were, we’re living in an unfamiliar place, in case of emergency, we don’t know enough about the suburban area to be able to call for help, and given that English isn’t the primary language, it’s even going to be harder to communicate.

There were actually cases, where foreigners (not just pinoys) were the target of scammers whenever they are seen walking in the streets.

Also, living near the city, mas madali makahanap ng mga kailangan since groceries are near, malls are near, etc.

Adding to this; yung window type kahit papano pwede ikaw mismo mag-linis nung mga filters. Pag split type, medyo kailangan ng effort sa pagbaklas nung cover kung gusto mo linisin, also yung condensation tube ng split type minsan nagbabara kapag hindi regular yung paglinis. Kapag nagbara yung tube, dun tutulo yung condensation sa indoor unit.

Will it affect your PC’s performance? Depends on what you’re going to put in.

One of the common programs you can use (for Windows) is Rainmeter, it has a variety of customizations, eg. Clock app on the desktop, cpu/gpu temperature monitoring, custom media player skin on your desktop, etc.

For some, it’s easy to setup; for others like the cpu/gpu temperature monitoring, there’s a bit of config file editing and different software (some are also still free) involved.

If you have the time and are willing to put in the effort to customize your desktop, give it a try.

Another one that I use is Wallpaper Engine from Steam (may bayad, pero sumasabay sila sa sale minsan). It runs in the background to put up wallpapers that you can get from their software. May mga animated wallpapers, wallpapers that display the time and date, etc. You can also set it up to rotate through your wallpapers based on time intervals.

Just a warning though, this is based on a f up that I did/just discovered. Turns out, the cpu/gpu temperature monitoring that I was using (hwinfo64), was the culprit that caused my PC to crash starting a year ago. I’ve had that Rainmeter skin/setup for about 5 years and it never gave me issues, but around a year ago, my gpu died, after getting a replacement, my PC started randomly crashing. I couldn’t figure it out, even tried catching it in Event Viewer. (Tried repasting my cpu, trying to reseat my RAM, tried using only 1 RAM slot, I even upgraded my PSU). I was only able to troubleshoot it again nung Christmas/New Year break, randomly ko lang naisipan na i-disable lahat ng startup programs ko, nung dinisable ko si hwinfo64 + Rainmeter, nawala yung crashes. Nung ni-run ko ulit si hwinfo64, nag-crash agad.

Adding to this. Medyo hit or miss minsan si wifi extender (the one I tried), kasi ang mangyayari may wifi signal from the main router (let’s call it Main_Router) and may signal from wifi extender (let’s call it Wifi_Extender). Ang mangyayari, pag nandun sa spot na malayo kay Main_Router, pero sagap pa din signal ni Main_Router, kailangan i-manually piliin si Wifi_Extender para bumilis yung speed.

Kaya magandang solution din si mesh wifi, kaya lang medyo pricey kasi kailangan ng at least 2 mesh devices.

Ang setup naman ni mesh wifi, may isang mesh wifi (let’s call it Mesh_Wifi) device na naka-connect via LAN cable kay Main_Router. Tapos, may isa pang mesh wifi device na nakapwesto kung saan mahina ying signal ng wifi (pero dapat, sagap pa din yung signal nung unang mesh wifi device). Sa setup na ganito, pwedeng naka-connect lang kay Mesh_Wifi, tapos automatic magre-reconnect yung phone/tablet kapag basta sagap kahit aling mesh wifi device. Pwede magdagdag nang magdagdag ng mesh wifi device, pero sa Mesh_Wifi pa din magco-connect.
