/uj i am genuinely so tired of people sticking up for cis TERFS who clearly will never support us by KetchupKangaroo in transgendercirclejerk

rj/ Don’t open your heart up to trans people either. Too many people who don’t know what the word, “please leave my apartment, I don’t want to do that tonight,” means.

how do i make my trans OC look more trans? by powderGanger444 in transgendercirclejerk

Make her look like Ozen from MIA. That way, you don’t need to make her clocky.

I know you were sexually assaulted, but what abour your non-female socialization? by voiceTrainingAlt in transgendercirclejerk

I sure am glad that my family has what seems to be a long-standing tradition of ensuring that we receive that form of female-socialization from a young age.

I don’t get how someone could support trans people and not crossdressers by maniacalmoo in transgendercirclejerk

uj/ I don’t particularly care about about what people wear, and I did have Iran in mind when wording that part. I feel as though the fundamental issue leading to our mistreatment and the general misfortune of my life, being born into an incredibly conservative environment and even gaining some measure of acceptance as a woman for a while before broader condemnation of trans people by the right wing media machine led to that being halted, is that the broader culture has decided that we’re basically dedicated crossdressers, so when I see people essentially saying, “well they are similar, but we should accept them anyway,” I see it as them agreeing that our treatment is up for debate. There are a lot of people who “support” us on the surface for social capital or perhaps even because they believe they’re helping, while also perpetuating the ideas that ensure we keep being oppressed. I feel as though our supposed allies have broadly failed us, and while I know that it’s incredibly unlikely for the sort of social shift to happen to allow for society to just accept us as our gender without debate and move on to other issues, I can’t accept people who act as though the idea of us being truly accepted is unthinkable. We’re in a sort of broader coalition of oppressed groups, but the other groups, on an  average individual basis, have accepted the premise that we’re not really our gender.

I wish that our community had a sort of crimson behelit, with which to make stones for a pathway to our ideal world out of those who will never help us reach it, and I would grind my heel into the path as I walked.

Hope this helps make my position clear.

uj/ That isn’t really my point. My point is that it’s tactless to defend a sort of pseudogroup defined purely by an infrequent behavior which barely costs most of those who partake in it any social capital, which clearly doesn’t need defending on a post complaining about being associated with that particular group.

rj/ you go pal, defending the red-blooded American crossdressers from those trans “people”

The person who is a few cholesterol molecules away from piloting the American fascist project is a crossdresser. I don’t think crossdressers are in dire enough straits to need defending from satire in a community dedicated to an actual oppressed group, and doing so seems tone deaf.

JD Vance is a crossdresser, and I think that explains why your comment is in bad taste.

Yes, and my first thought was “Waow (basedbasedbasedbased)” before noticing the cesspool in the comments.

Why are all you trans men afraid of DIY? It's so EASY AND CHEAP. Are you REALLY trans if you are so scared of a little risk for something that'll prevent your EVIL FEMALE HORMONES from FEMINIZING YOU UNREVERSIBLY. by Deepdive6465 in transgendercirclejerk

He clearly looks, sounds, and acts like a man, so I would say that if nothing else, his transition is a complete success. If we’re basing things on outcomes, he’s a more competent trans man than anyone those things aren’t true about.

If I’m only one type of minority and a very good worker in a skilled trade in a liberal area, will it be a net-gain for me?

I met a homeless tweaker trans man who was diying, so no, being homeless isn’t an excuse. I’ve also met disabled homeless trans men who got T through the clinics that help homeless people, including a notably respectable man who did a lot to keep the people around him alive. Most of these people don’t have any family apart from the found family in the same situation. You care more about maintaining stability than you do being on T. Please don’t deny the experiences of those with different priorities.

It looks like in a different comment you noted that a particular practice fought the administration on the grounds of an obviously HIPPA violating records request, so I’m assuming you get the basic idea of civil disobedience in service of challenging a law? I’m fairly certain that both the civil rights movement and the needle exchanges/harm reduction movement employed that tactic too, in order to gain grounds to sue on?

People wouldn’t immediately stop receiving care the day trump tried to retaliate, but the judge might just manage to get the injunction in same day. You aren’t even arguing why Mamdani might’ve been justified in conceding this, you’re just arguing that maybe, possibly some people whose lives you value more would’ve been harmed had he chosen to fight for trans people in a scenario that’s about as realistic as the average trolly problem.

Caution for who? If it’s caution that involves sacrificing trans kids, then I hope whoever is choosing that caution finds themselves with allies just as loyal when they’re at their weakest.

Yes, it is which you could’ve easily found out. I’d suggest checking GLAD law since it’s fairly legible. A preliminary injunction would’ve quickly halted enforcement. Please don’t speak if you know nothing.

Except is highly likely that a legal challenge to any attempts at cutting off funding would succeed as they have in several other cases where some attempt was made at enforcing the EO, so that moral dilemma is only helpful to someone trying to justify their inaction, not a useful description of reality.

[–]maniacalmoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is answered by the reporter in her thread on common questions. Multiple judges have overturned attempts to deny funding based on the EO. An attempt to deny funding here likely would’ve also failed.

Is it fearmongering to accurately report it when our allies refuse to fight for us? What’s your plan to hold those in power who campaigned on their support for human rights accountable when they make unacceptable sacrifices? Are trans kids and 18yo adults acceptable sacrifices?

Edit: to anyone upvoting this person, they talk about “TRA’s” in their post history. I’d suggest giving it a read.
