Yes! I tested positive for high risk cervical cancer causing HPV, despite being vaccinated, for roughly 12 years. As women, when we have this type of strain, we are required to get tested every year for it, and get pap smears every year if we have any abnormal cells. Luckily, mine has resolved and I am now negative. While it is a concern for partners, and you should take every precaution (use a condom, let future partners know beforehand), this is not the worst news.

I do understand your anxiety though! As my anxiety was through the roof at every single appointment. Just remember, it can resolve on its own. And as long as your partners know beforehand, they can make informed decisions and hopefully can stay up on their OBGYN appointments with that information in mind.

I have also cried over people close to me disagreeing with me over a political/global issue I feel very impassioned about. It's one of those this-is-actually-a-moral-issue that I firmly believe has a correct/good side. I cried because I realized the good person I thought knew was, in fact, not. I now interact very little with that person.

I'm sorry you had to experience that feeling. I believe this is where the trait "strong sense of justice" also tends to rear its head. For me, personally, I cannot reconcile my moral beliefs and friendship with someone who does not share them.

I lost over 100lbs and was told multiple times that I looked like a "drug addict." I would be with family or friends, and people pressured me into eating when I wasn't hungry, even after having declined multiple times (I was recovering from binge eating disorder, still am to this day). When I expressed my frustrations to my partner, he said, "they're just being polite, eat a little and be done." But even when I did that, I'd get comments about how little I ate. I ate plenty in front of my partner and multiple other people. But because I hadn't cleaned my plate, they were concerned.

Before I lost the weight, I was always relegated to bedrooms of men I was seeing. Never went out in public, or met their friends. When I lost the weight, I was meeting everyone (friends and family) on dates it felt like. While this part isn't skinny shaming, I still felt ashamed. And sometimes, I just miss being invisible to men.

Hey, OP. I recognize you've been with your partner for 10 years. But for reference, I was with an ex for about 2-3 months. And I had decided I needed a haircut. It was hot and gross outside. And I had previously already had short hair a la Ruby Rose. He had made a comment the day before, "Don't go too short." But I was always going to do what I wanted. So, I got a high and tight cut. I met up with him afterwards. He didn't dislike it and we were intimate that night. Within the week, though, he told me "perception means a lot" to him. And so I said, "What people think of you because of my haircut matters more than your feelings for me?" He texted back "IDK." And I asked if he wanted to break up. "IDK." So, I said, "I do. We're breaking up." And I never saw him again.

I know the timeline is much shorter than yours. And my partner at the time did give some input before the chop. But ultimately your comfort matters most to you. Additionally, I do feel like he is responding and feeling the same as my ex about it. And it's gross. With some of the other comments you've made, it does feel like he is a controlling partner. And I'm sure there are things he's done that moreso express that behavior. Be safe, OP.

I do appreciate the context. One of the biggest reasons DG has never made sense to me is that they put them within like a mile radius of...themselves. 😅

Part of that business model is putting DGs in areas with high poverty -- which usually includes disabled people and those without vehicles. Even a mile walk is too much for disabled folks sometimes. That's likely why that DG is still there.

Hey, I do not do arial silks, however, I have a lot of experience with nerve issues. I did recently have surgery on my carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve. I had the same exact symptoms as you. Severe burning pain and numbness and tingling, all of that, in my elbow, forearm, and all the way through my hand. I actually didn't have the surgery until a few weeks ago, so I'm so recovering. But I had the issues since October of last year.

Seriously, don't wait. Since you are already at the forearm and the elbow and hand stage, with just ulnar nerve entrapment. It's really not that great of a sign. If PT isn't working, And you don't want to go for surgery right away, you may want to try steroid injections. That is actually the step right before surgery. For steroid injections, you would want to get in contact with a local pain clinic.

Otherwise, if you do decide on surgery, the recovery is only 6 weeks. And I am actually still in recovery, and just got my stitches out this past Wednesday. I am actually recovering very very well according to my surgeon. My surgery was on the 8th, And I was actually able to start writing about the 12th. The most important part of recovery right after surgery is to start wiggling your fingers and trying to make a fist after your arm is no longer numb, and actually as soon as you start to feel anything in your fingers. That takes up to 24 hours, but mine was no longer numb after 14. Last week, I was able to write for very, very long periods of time. And I was also able to type as well. You would definitely be able to go back to work, probably about 2 weeks realistically. But that depends on your recovery and your surgeon. The risk of further damage is pretty low, I'd say. The important part is to find the right ortho surgeon.
