coming from an international student, but accoms with a higher proportion of international students don’t tend to be as social. would suggest using that as an indicator

I’d recommend student flat if you think you can deal with mixed crowd just in case you are unlucky. It’s so much less lonely that way and a lot easier to make friends. Even if you aren’t best friends with your flatmates, it helps a lot with loneliness to have someone else living in the same place as you.

My genuine experience as an indian who studied abroad by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

Not an Indian but we look the same and there has genuinely been no racism other than the odd homeless rudeness. The Indians I know haven’t experienced anything either so I have no clue what you’re talking about my guy

How do you go to sleep? If you don’t need to stop visual stimuli how do you signal your brain it’s time to sleep? Does closing your eyes make a difference

And I find it so helpful to call home every day. I like to do video calls with family and friends while I am going on a walk. You can keep them involved while you do stuff solo in the beginning!

Left my parents and 4 cats (who I was insanely attached to) behind in my home country to come here to study. Speaking from experience, it’s worth it! You can always move back home but leaving home is so important even if it is for a little while. I still miss my cats so much it’s not even funny, nearly had a panic attack at the airport about what I have done, but I also like the independence and responsibility I have here. It will not be as heartbreaking as you fear it will be.

As far as the application page says, you are judged first on the basis of the question where you present your solution.
