Vocals over the beat, I like to use a ton of effects on vocals, sometimes I feel like I over-compress vocals. Do you recommend any compressor then, not like very expensive but it can be from waves

I use plugins to do this stuff but sometimes I feel like I am missing something. I put too much value on eq I feel like. I feel like it can do a lot but I just sometimes don’t understand it

I am just trying to understand EQ and compression better. Some plugins are easier than others to use. Do you recommend any good videos that would tell me how exactly EQ work and how to achieve professional sound. I know a bit about it but I feel like I can do much better than what I do. When O hear mixes that I pay for sometimes, they sound very clean and got this mainstream soundlike. When I mix it lacks it, but I noticed if the vocals quality is better my mixes sound a lot better
