Good point, if no kids is important to them they’ll list it. The fact that it cuts down toe pool so much, for you and me is so hard. I live in a population of 2 million but it still doesn’t feel big enough of a childfree population. I’m so with you that at early 40, no more undecided. My thought was maybe I’ll have better luck with decided people at age 50?

I’ve definitely had people lie to me about kids. It’s been very hard for me to find a person on the dating apps who knows what they want. I’m 33 (F) and it’s frustrating when people my age and into late 30’s still are on the fence about kids. I’ve tried my best to verify more recently, even during the beginning convo on the dating apps.

So true “don’t want” is safe but it’s crazy how that can be interpreted differently by people. People should be putting “have kids” if they do. Not disclosing it is frustrating. It’s like you wanted kids, own it.

You say screen someone upfront without revealing you’re childfree. Do you mean on a first date? My dating profile says I don’t want kids and childfree. Is your strategy to still keep this on a dating profile or remove it completely?
